In this newly remastered version of Panzer Dragoon, the remake stays true to the original with some updated graphics and controls. Riding with an ancient dragon, players will fly through seven levels filled with fantastic visuals as they travel through different environments like the tropical blue ocean cities or the complex subterranean ruins. Enemies like big dragonflies, wasps, sandworms, and flying battleships will attack from all sides, so players will make good use of the 360-degree controls and locking on targets. The game was originally released on the Sega Saturn in 1995, gaining success for its art direction and the game’s fantasy world.

Forever Entertainment released a new trailer showing off the impressive gameplay on the PlayStation 4. Just like the original, the story follows hunter Keil Fluge who rides a powerful dragon as they reach a looming tower to save civilization. The remake was previously released on the Nintendo Switch earlier this year with the game also having just released on the PC a few days ago, With the game coming to Playstation really soon, this will allow players with that console being able to own a copy of their own.

The game’s official Twitter page also shared the news of the release date for the PlayStation 4 version. The game was teased to be coming out on the system soon, but no release date was given until now. An Xbox One port is still in the works for those still waiting on it. The remake offers an optional control system that would allow players to aim while independently moving with the second control stick, so it should help appeal to new audiences unfamiliar with the series.

Look out for Panzer Dragoon: Remake as it makes its way to the Playstation 4 on September 28.
