Paizo and Humble Bundle have teamed up on several occasions to bring us Pathfinder bundles in the past. Well, they are at it again, but this time, it is the turn of Pathfinder Second Edition!

Pathfinder is a fantasy genre tabletop roleplaying game that has a shared origin with Dungeons & Dragons 3.5 Edition. Piazo originally published official magazines for D&D under license but this was renamed to Pathfinder using the Open Game License (OGL), following Wizards of the Coast decision not to renew. Initially, it was a periodical but with the impending launch of D&D 4th Edition and the more restriction Game System License (GSL) that came with it, Paizo made the decision to switch and develop their own game using the 3.5 core rules and OGL. The Second Edition was announced in May 2018 and went through an intensive playtesting period before an official release in August 2019.

Pathfinder Second Edition takes the game further away from its D&D roots and more towards its own distinct system which is a good thing. They have taken user feedback from the first edition and the second edition playtests and incorporated them into an all-rounded game that feels and plays better.

The bundle itself represents tremendous value for the money with way too much content to go through in detail. There are 23 different books with the entry-level tier featuring the core rule book. All purchases go towards the following three charities that are committed to diversity and racial justice:

  • National Urban League
  • The Carl Brandon Society
  • NAACP Legal Defense Fund

The Pathfinder Second Edition Bundle is available from the Humble Bundle site from July 15th through till August 5th. The highest tier allows you to pick up a physical copy of the Pathfinder Second Edition Core Rulebook, but be warned, shipping charges for this are in addition to the bundle price and are paid directly to Paizo. Check the estimated costs before buying as shipping fees can be on the high side depending upon the destination country. It may be cheaper to buy a local copy instead.
