Marvel dropped the most extensive Dr. Strange in the Multiverse Of Madness trailer so far right before the Super Bowl kicked off. That led to MCU fans largely ignoring the opening few minutes of the game as they rewatched the ad multiple times, making sure they had seen everything hidden within it. While there appear to be some pretty subtle references to who we might see in the movie, there was also one glaringly obvious but unconfirmed one everyone was talking about right away.

The cameo appearance of what seemed to be Patrick Stewart's Charles Xavier, better known as X-Men's Professor X. A mysterious British voice can be heard declaring Dr. Strange needs to be told the truth at which point part of someone's head moves into the frame. Marvel fans were convinced that someone was Stewart, and the man himself has now confirmed that to be so.

The X-Men actor revealed what many believe they already knew during an appearance on Jake's Takes, admitting that even he didn't recognize his own voice at first. “I was astonished — and all they saw was the back of my shoulder and I think my earlobe, nothing else — that there would have been so many connections made,” Stewart said, admitting that so many people knowing who it was made him happy.

Clearly, despite being a part of Marvel projects for more than two decades, Stewart continues to underestimate just how closely the franchise's fans will study a trailer or a poster. If there's something in there to be found, it will probably be discovered within hours of it being shown off. Fans have already found the Captain Carter shield in the latest Dr. Strange 2 poster, and some even think Deadpool is hidden in there too.

Now Stewart has confirmed that really is him in The Multiverse of Madness, speculation on what his role might be can really start to ramp up. The obvious conclusion is that Professor X is a member of The Illuminati. That means the Xavier will be one from an alternate universe and not the one who has been leading the X-Men all these years. Other members of the group fans think they have sussed are Superior Iron Man and Fantastic Four's Captain Fantastic.
