People are using Half-Life: Alyx's in-game piano to play anything from Rimsky-Korsakov's "Flight of the Bumblebee" to "All Star" by Smash Mouth. We love the Internet.

Half-Life: Alyx came out almost two weeks ago after a thirteen year gap since the previous game's release. As expected, then, players are milking this latest addition to the franchise for all it's worth, which includes spending a bit longer than they should perfecting meme songs on the in-game piano.

During the game, Alyx stumbles upon a piano. She then says: "Hey Russ, name a song." "'Flight of the Bumblebee,'" Russ answers, to which Alyx nonchalantly replies "Comin' right up!" Haha! What a pair of jokesters.

Oh, wait. Someone actually did that?

Obviously they did, it's the Internet. YouTuber NitromathThePizzaGuy assigned himself the weighty responsibility of taking Russ up on his challenge to play the notoriously tricky tune. Seriously, here is an example of what it should look and sound like when done to a T. But no task is too cumbersome for NitromathThePizzaGuy!

Granted, he did have to split the sequence up into separate parts and play them back simultaneously in order to produce the desired outcome, but he still did it. The cherry on top is Russ' unsurprised response of "That's it," like it was totally chill that Alyx was Rimsky-Korsakov's very own reincarnation.

It also appears to be pretty difficult (impossible) to achieve the level of dexterity in Alyx's VR fingers needed to fully recreate some of life's more difficult piano pieces, so players end up having to trickle out these masterpieces using only their index finger. And it's hilarious.

Take this player, for example. He (to varying degrees of success) manages to gift us with covers of "Welcome To The Black Parade," the main theme from The Elder Scrolls: Morrowind, "Megalovania" from Undertaleand Portal's "Still Alive."

Then there's YouTuber Lambomang, who has left all others behind with his various renditions of some of the more prominent meme songs of our time, like Smash Mouth's "All Star," Rick Astley's "Never Gonna Give You Up," and "Shooting Stars" by Bag Raiders.

So we would just like to take this moment to thank these fine individuals for their service. Humanity is grateful for your contributions.
