If you’re an online gamer, then you probably know that trash talk and swear words run rampant. But have you ever wondered which online community uses foul language most often? You may have thought it would be gamers that play Call of Duty, but according to a study done by Buzz Bingo, Rainbow Six Siege players swear the most often with FIFA 21 players coming in a close second place.

How did they come to this conclusion? Buzz Bingo watched 100 Twitch and YouTube gaming streams for the most popular games and newly released titles in August 2021. With 15 minutes per game, this resulted in 25 hours of Twitch streams and YouTube game broadcasts watched in order to record how often people were swearing. They found that those playing Rainbow Six Siege swore about 584 times per hour. You can see a breakdown of the top five games that drew out the most foul language below:

  • Rainbow Six Siege: 584 expletives per hour
  • FIFA 21: 552 expletives per hour
  • COD Warzone: 484 expletives per hour
  • Halo MCC: 436 expletives per hour
  • Grand Theft Auto 5: 428 expletives per hour

Furthermore, through this study, Buzz Bingo found that PC gamers were swearing more often than Xbox and PlayStation gamers. While PC gamers were marked at 380 expletives per hour, Xbox gamers came second with 368 followed by PlayStation gamers with 332. While the difference in numbers isn’t dramatic between the first two, it seems PlayStation gamers might be slightly tamer when it comes to trash talk.

The last part of the study was to determine who, out of the most popular streamers today, uses the most expletive language. This was easily determined to be xQc, with Castro_1021 coming in second place. The breakdown of the top five streamers who swear the most is as follows:

  • xQc: 308 expletives per hour
  • Castro_1021: 243 expletives per hour
  • Shroud: 237 expletives per hour
  • Moistcr1tikal: 221 expletives per hour
  • NickMercs: 196 expletives per hour
