Izanami And Izanagi-No-Okami Battle Setup
Recommended Party
As this is the final battle, the choice in teammates should be made according to who on your team is the strongest. The fight ahead has very few exploits, so use your strongest teammates here.
For us, that was Yosuke, Chie, and Yukiko.
If you're on the path to fighting Izanami, then you'll have experienced everyone's third awakenings during the Winter Event, so long as you've maxed their individual social links. This gives them a new attack, all of which prove pivotal to this battle.

Without advancing Chie's social link or riding bikes with her, we'd suggest bringing someone else, as Chie will be missing the things that make her effective in this fight.
Recommended Level And Personas
With this battle happening so late in the game, both of Izanami's forms are Lv. 90.
However, since this is the final battle, once you begin, you're out of time to grind anymore. Whatever level you are when you finish the dungeon part of Yomotsu Hirasaka is the level at which you'll fight Izanami.
Additionally, with higher player levels come more powerful fusions. Some of P4G's strongest Personas are limited to the uppermost levels of your experience, including several Personas who may help in this fight.
We have a guide to the Most Powerful Personas in P4G for you to consider when assembling your roster for the Izanami fight.
We found ourselves relying on both Helel and Trumpeter for the fight.
Helel is completely immune to fire, light, and dark. It also resists physical and will learn Repel Wind beginning at Lv. 91.
Meanwhile, Trumpeter is able to repel light and electric attacks and absorb ice damage. It is immune to dark and has no weakness.

Izanami And Izanami-No-Okami Battle Strategy
First Phase: Izanami
The beginning of this final fight in Persona 4 Golden is straightforward enough - so much so that it almost seems too easy at first.
Don't be lured into this false sense of security - conserve your SP as much as possible in this phase of the fight, as it's only the first.
Attack Izanami with heavy elemental magic to chip away at her HP, being mindful of her own slew of elemental damage as well. Her status ailment infliction may prove to be a nuisance, but so long as Yukiko has Salvation to restore HP and cure all ailments, you should be in good shape.
Helel also knows Salvation if you've brought it to the fight.
This phase shouldn't take too long, but once you get Izanami down to a low enough HP, stop attacking when you're told that Izanami is impossible to hit.
This is the flag for the second phase beginning in a turn or two, after Izanami chats to you some more. Until the second phase begins, you can no longer hurt her for this phase.
Use the time to heal the party and replenish everyone's SP, since you'll need it far more in the slog of the second part of this fight. Guard if you've got everyone in top shape, and wait for the next phase to begin.
This is the final battle in P4G, so don't hesitate to use your HP and SP-replenishing items liberally during the fight.
Because of this, you may be wise to save SP for damage-dealing moves and use items to heal unless necessary (or for sake of curing ailments in addition to restoring HP)
Second Phase: Izanami-No-Okami
There are a few things to keep in mind as the battle shifts to the second stage: Izanami-no-Okami drains electric magic, and she now attacks twice per turn.
Trumpeter is somewhat invaluable during this stage of the fight for its Debilitate skill, which severely limits Izanami-no-Okami's damage output, as well as makes damage inflicted on her more effective.
Even if she does use Dekunda to cancel your Debilitate, she'll have to waste one of her turns doing so, so it's still a viable strategy.
For a boss with this much strength and so many instant death skills on hand, you'll want to mitigate the damage you take as much as possible through Debilitate or any debuff skills your party has.
Healing is a critical part of this fight, as Izanami-no-Okami still has a massive damage output even when debuffed, especially if you're attempting the fight with a lower player level.
We found it effective to use full party healing skills and items as often as possible. None of your items carry over into NG+, so an HP top-off for everyone never hurts!
Not only is the elemental damage a massive hazard for the team, but Izanami-no-Okami is much more hellbent on inflicting ailments onto the Investigation Team.
This can prove lethal in this stage of the fight, as Izanami-no-Okami can and regularly will use Summons to Yomi while the team is inflicted with an ailment to instantly kill every foe afflicted with an ailment.
Yu can dodge this with Helel active when you're not using Debilitate to cash in on the Insta-Heal skill that allows him to recover from any ailment other than Down or KO on his next turn.
The rest of the team is still at risk of being killed with Summons to Yomi at this stage, but as always, the fight isn't over for your team until Yu is knocked out, even if he's the only one left standing.
At this stage, it's critical to cure ailments as soon as possible, as you won't know when Summons to Yomi is coming. If anyone is afflicted with an ailment, assume they're at risk.
Additionally, healing is as important as ever, especially with Izanami-no-Okami knowing both Hell's Judgment and Galgalim Eyes to massively reduce your HP in a single move.
As long as the team is in good shape, keep buffing the team as you debuff Izanami-no-Okami to make them more powerful while dampening her power, and lay into her with any elemental damage except electric to finish the fight in good time.
Final Stage: Thousand Curses
You'll know the fight has been won when Izanami-no-Okami reaches a critically low HP and begins to cast Thousand Curses.
This looks dire, but it means you've won the fight! Simply watch through the cinematics to see how Yu will handle this seemingly-unbeatable adversary.
After the battle has been won, congratulations - you've officially beaten Persona 4 Golden!
