With only a month away from the official release date of the upcoming Persona 5 Royal in Japan, Sony has announced a collaboration with Atlus to bring some brand new, limited edition Persona 5-themed PlayStation 4 gaming hardware to gamers.

The new merchandise was unveiled at the recent Tokyo Game Show 2019 this past week. This included a limited edition PlayStation Pro, two standard PlayStation 4 consoles, a pair of top covers, and two DualShock 4 controllers prominently featuring our favorite sleep-patrolling Phantom Thief, Morgana, on the touch pad.

The PlayStation Pro (pictured above) comes in "glacier white" with a design featuring the Phantom Thieves' signature "All Out Attack" move. The console comes with a matching controller, sports a 1 TB hard drive, and will sell for 44,980 yen (about $417).

The standard PlayStation consoles are offered in both "glacier white" and "jet black" and additionally come with matching controllers. The white console faceplate features images of Morgana, while the black console faceplate features images of Joker and Arsene. They will come in both 1 TB and 500 GB configurations, retailing for 39,980 yen and 34,980 yen respectively.

Individual controllers, featured in either black or white, will also be sold. Each will retail for 7,480 yen (about $69) each.

For those who already own their own 8th generation consoles, top covers will also be available for 4,000 yen (about $37) each.

Sony will be releasing these exclusive pieces beginning October 31 to coincide with Persona 5 Royal's official release date in Japan. These will only be sold until December 25, as they are a limited release.

Unfortunately, there's been no word so far on whether these beautiful pieces will be sold internationally (and possibly timed with the Western release of Royal in Spring 2020) as the Tokyo Game Show announcement only revealed details for a Japan release.

While it looks like Western fans will just have to wait patiently to see if we can own our own Persona 5 PlayStation merchandise, at least we have this groovy opening movie to watch over and over again while we wait.

Persona 5 Royal releases in Japan on October 31, 2019, and in the West in Spring 2020.
