Welcome to our Persona 5 Royal walkthrough. Here, we’re going to be guiding you through all ten playable months of the game, making sure you’ll make it to the true ending with all confidant ranks and social stats maxed out — not to mention popping that shiny platinum on your first run of the game.

We've also included the recommended conversational options to choose from during confidant and job events to ensure you reach maximum stats by the end of your playthrough.

A Few Things To Note Going Into This Walkthrough

• This walkthrough is a modified version of this guide, optimized for further efficiency and combat effectiveness.
• All confidant rank-ups are dependent on you bringing a persona of a matching arcana when spending time with them. With the exception of Rank 1 and Rank 10, if you forget to do this even once, it’ll set your schedule back — sometimes catastrophically, depending on the confidant.
• We will note which personas you should have equipped — this means just having them in Joker's stock of on-hand personas, rather than actually currently equipped as the active persona.
• Sun and Moon confidants do not require matching personas.
• This walkthrough is based on normal difficulty — you might find yourself having a hard time keeping up on higher difficulty modes.
• As it’s not possible to 100 percent the Thieves Den achievements on your first run, we’ll be guiding you through popping as many of them as possible, but it will not be a main focus like the trophies/achievements.
• The number of music notes that appear for social stat increases is not the number of points earned. For example, one music note means you have earned two points, two music notes mean you have earned three or four points, and three music notes mean you have earned between five and ten points.

October Walkthrough

October is one of the most cutscene-heavy months, so be ready to take in big story segments, so you'll mainly be working on your confidants. If you haven’t gone around and bought all the available books from Shibuya, Shinjuku, and Jinbocho yet, this is your reminder to do so.

10/1 Saturday

Daytime:

• Buy Seeker’s Tools (¥2,000) from the Akihabara Electronics store.
• Return to the arcade in Akihabara and speak to Shinya with a Tower persona equipped. (Kindness +3)

Evening:

• Go to the Airsoft Shop in Shibuya with a Hanged Man persona and speak to Iwai. Choose "I want to work."
• Choose any option.
• Choose any option.
• Choose "Girls." or "That's a secret."
• Choose "You should buy us something." (Proficiency +3)

• On the phone, choose "All I did was listen to him."

10/2 Sunday

Daytime:

• (Optional) Interact with the TV in Leblanc for the Home Shopping Channel — Pumpkin Ghost Set (¥14,800) is our recommended purchase.
• (Optional) Purchase any items you want from the priest in Kanda.
• (Optional:) Your social stats should all be Max Rank, but if not, you can purchase Aojiru (¥5,000) from the drink stand in the Underground Walkway for stat increases.
• Travel to Kichijoji and speak to Trader Sakai in the western alley to trade the Calling Postcard for Strawberry Daifuku x2.
• Go to the Underground Walkway in Shibuya with an Emperor persona equipped and agree to spend time with Yusuke.
• Choose "It has to be Ann."
• Choose "You've really grown, Yusuke."

Evening:

• Respond to Futaba's DM and agree to go to the movies with her. (Knowledge +7)
• Choose "Somehow..."

This event isn't strictly necessary, so if you need to catch up on something else, feel free to substitute this.

10/3 Monday

Daytime:

• Go to the school gates and agree to hang out with Makoto with a High Priestess persona equipped.
• Choose any option.
• Choose any option.
• Choose "That was the right move."
• Choose "I'm a regular here."
• For a romantic relationship, choose "I'll be your study partner." Or, to keep it platonic, choose "You'll find someone someday."
• Choose "I do." to pursue the romance, or "That's not what I meant." to keep it platonic.

• On the phone, choose "I'd do anything for you." or "No big deal."

Evening:

• Head to Shinjuku and speak to Ohya in Crossroads bar with a Devil persona equipped.
• Choose any option.
• Choose "He must not like you."
• Choose "You should trust in her."
• Choose "That's the spirit".

• On the phone, choose "I'll dig some more up for you."

10/5 Wednesday

• In class: read a book of your choice. We recommend something that opens up locations or additional benefits.

Daytime:

• Meet with Futaba outside of Leblanc with a Hermit persona equipped and agree to hang out with her.
• Choose any option.
• Choose "I think you're right."
• Choose "He's the protagonist."

• On the phone, choose "You did great."

Evening:

• Go to the Sports Shop in the Underground Mall of Shibuya and buy the Moist Protein (¥4,500).
• Go to Kanda and speak to Hifumi with a Star persona equipped.
• Choose "Just don't lose."
• Choose any option.

10/6 Thursday

• On the train: read a book of your choice. We recommend something that opens up locations or additional benefits.

From here on out, there aren’t any books that are required to keep on schedule, so you have a few options. You can read books to open up locations where you can receive room decorations from confidants, or focus on reading minigame technique books.

We recommend using this time to read all the available books from Jinbocho, as completing the old man’s catalogue will unlock a special book that opens up more Technical combinations in combat.

• Class answer: "Joseph-Ignace Guillotine." (Knowledge +2)

Daytime:

• Go to the arcade in Akihabara and speak to Shinya with a Tower persona equipped.
• Choose "Yeah, you tell him!"
• Choose "Get your revenge." (Kindness +5)

Evening:

• Complete the crossword on the first-floor table in Leblanc. The answer is "Black". (Knowledge +2)
• Visit the twins near the door to the Velvet Room and take them on their next date.

10/7 Friday

Daytime:

• Buy all the books available in Jinbocho Bookstore if you haven't already.
• Go to the Underground Walkway in Shibuya with an Emperor persona equipped and agree to spend time with Yusuke.
• Choose "Her love for her son." or "The pain of separation."
• Choose "You've really changed, Yusuke."

Evening:

• Ensure you have a Tower persona equipped and go and speak to Mishima in Akihabara and agree to hang out with him.
• Choose "You're so reliable."
• Choose "Sounds pretty twisted."
• Choose any option.

10/8 Saturday

Daytime:

• Go on the trip with Shinya and choose "Sometimes it's good."

Evening:

• Ensure you have a Hermit and Hanged Man persona equipped and take Hifumi on a date to the Odaiba ferris wheel.
• Agree to spend the next day with Futaba via DM.

10/9 Sunday

Daytime:

• Automatic date with Futaba (providing you responded yes to the DM). (Nakano Unlocked.)
• Choose "Do you work part time?"
• Choose any option.
• Choose any option.

Evening:

• Go to Shibuya Station Square and speak to Yoshida. Choose to help him out.
• Choose "Do your best."
• Choose "You had a change of heart."

10/10 Monday Daytime:

• Go to the arcade in Akihabara and speak to Shinya with a Tower persona equipped.
• Choose "It was pretty weird."
• Choose "I'm sure you can do it."
• Choose "You need a new strategy."

• Choose "I'll be cheering you on."

Evening:

• Complete the crossword on the first-floor table in Leblanc. The answer is "Halloween". (Knowledge +2)
• Take Hifumi on a date to Destinyland and choose "Why don't you try it?"

In the coming weeks, there will be many points at which you’ll be confined to Leblanc for the night: pick up protein for training, books for reading, games for playing, etc. to fill up your time. If you haven’t bought it out of curiosity already, buy the broken laptop from the secondhand shop as well as PC repair tools from Akihabara so you can fix it during one of these nights.

Chalk will be thrown at you in class, and you have a 66 percent chance of successfully dodging it. You need to dodge it for the stat increase, but your Charm should be maxed out by now anyway.

• Travel to the Akihabara Game Center and win a Wanna-kun Doll from the machine on the left.

If you are short on money, you can save beforehand and then reload your save if you find yourself spending too much money trying to win the doll.

• Go to the Akihabara and use the Capsule Machine repeatedly until you get a Gear Girimehkala. If you run out of money or use too much money, you can reload your save and try again.
• Travel to Kichijoji and speak to Trader Sakai in the western alley to trade the Gear Girimehkala for Hot-Blooded Sword.
• Meet with Futaba outside of Leblanc with a Hermit persona equipped and agree to hang out with her.
• Choose "That must have been a shock?"
• Choose "You didn't know any better."
• Choose any option.

• On the phone, choose "Are you running away again?"

Evening:
