PREVIOUSLY: Persona 5 Royal Confidant Guide: Faith (Part 1)

Decidedly more subdued than before, Violet joins the Phantom Thieves in earnest in January. Provided you reached rank 5 with her in December, you’ll be able to resume her confidant line beginning in January after the first few inciting events that lead into the final Palace arc.

Availability

Beginning with 1/13, Violet is basically available every day except on Tuesdays and Fridays, with the exception of the Thursday the 26th. You’ll still find her standing where she used to in Kichijoji during the daytime. The deadline to max out her confidant is 2/1 - if you don’t, she won’t achieve her third persona evolution just before the final battle.

Perks

Violet offers small permanent increases of 5 HP during her rank up events up until rank 7. In addition, she begins to gain the regular perks for playable teammates:

  • Rank 6 || Follow up: Chance to perform a follow-up attack if Joker’s attack does not down the enemy. Brainiac Talk: Chance to step in after Shadow negotiation fails, allowing a retry.
  • Rank 7 || Harisen Recovery: Chance to cure status ailments inflicted upon party members.
  • Rank 8 || Endure: Chance to withstand an otherwise fatal attack with 1 HP remaining. This can only be done once per battle.
  • Rank 9 || Protect: Chance to shield Joker from an otherwise fatal attack. This can be done once per battle.
  • Rank 10 || Second Awakening: Transforms Vanadis into her evolution, Ella.

Rank Up Events

As with every confidant, having a persona of a corresponding arcana will increase the number of points you earn with them by one. The point increases with a Faith persona on hand are indicated in brackets next to the regular increases as such:

Prompt 1: point values for answers a, b, c [point values with matching persona]

In addition, Violet is one of the confidants where scoring high on exams will also provide a bonus. Ranking first in the entire school will give you 1.5x affinity points, while ranking within the top ten will give 1.2x. This stacks with the bonuses from having a matching persona. If you’re receiving bonus points on top of 3 points already, you will still see only three musical notes but gain more within the actual mechanics.
