A dataminer has uncovered what appears to be a cut scene from Persona 5 Royal featuring an alternate version of the Valentine's Day scene should Joker enter a romantic relationship with more than one girl.

A video of the scene was discovered and posted by Twitter user pan-hime (@regularpanties) who found the event in the Chinese build of the game. YouTuber Faz has taken the original video and provided an English translation below.

Those who are familiar with Persona 5 will remember that Joker has the option to enter a romantic relationship with any of his female confidants (with the exception of Sae and the Twin Wardens) at the end of each character's Level 9 confidant event. Should that happen, Joker has the option to go on several dates with his girlfriend, with one occurring on Valentine's Day.

If Joker wishes to date more than one character, there are no immediate consequences. However, his two-timing (or, if you're really thorough, ten-timing) actions will ultimately catch up to him on Valentine's Day: In both Persona 5 and Royal, Joker will receive a visit from all his girlfriends the day after Valentine's with where they will angrily berate him for cheating, even going as far as physically beating him up.

But from pan-hime's datamining, it appears that there is an alternate version of the scene that occurs if the player receives Royal's "Bad Ending."

Royal's "Bad Ending" is achieved if the player decides to accept Dr. Mauki's "perfect" reality, where everyone's dreams and wishes come true without any effort. People are no longer unhappy, no one has to suffer, and everyone (except Joker) has no lasting memories of the old reality.

In this newly discovered scene, Joker's multiple girlfriends appear to be understanding, and do not reprimand him for having multiple relationships. They don't beat him up, and even all come together to gift him his Valentine's Day chocolates.

Reply tweets and comments have pointed out the unnerving quality of the alternate scene, pointing out how strange it is to watch all of Joker's girlfriends act so out of character. Despite the uneasiness of the scenario, it is, admittedly, very much in line with the nature of Maruki's reality.

Even though this scene didn't make it into the final game, you can still watch the unused footage above.

Persona 5 Royal is available now, exclusively for the PlayStation 4.
