Persona games are pretty renowned for their soundtracks, combining elements of jazz, disco, funk, and a whole host of other genres to create memorable songs that make the series truly stand out. None are more aware of this than Atlus itself, who is pretty stingy when it comes to releasing its music outside the games themselves.

However, after multiple years from release, both the Persona 5 Royal and Persona 5 Strikers soundtracks are now available on Spotify and Apple Music after a surprise announcement from the publisher on Tuesday. Both soundtracks feature a variety of different songs from each game, including Persona 5 Strikers' intro song "You Are Stronger."

Persona 5's soundtrack has already been on the service for a little while, so it was only a matter of time until Royal and Strikers also dropped, but both soundtracks releasing on the same day will ensure that every Persona fan's 2022 Spotify Wrapped statistics has at least one of the franchise's songs in it.

Speaking of surprise announcements from Atlus, the publisher also announced the return of the Soul Hackers series yesterday. Soul Hackers 2 will be a sequel to the original game which was released in 1997 and will launch on PC, PS4, PS5, and Xbox Series X on August 26. Unfortunately, a Nintendo Switch version of the game was not announced.

For those who don't know what the game is, Soul Hackers is a spinoff of the Shin Megami Tensei franchise, much like the Persona series. Soul Hackers 2 will follow the story of Ringo and Figure who Must "decrypt destiny and save the world from the apocalypse." It's pretty standard fare for JRPG fans.

If you want to try out the original before diving into the sequel later this year, the game was re-released in the West on the 3DS in 2013. You'll want to grab it sooner rather than later though, as Nintendo recently announced it would be closing the 3DS eShop at some point between now and March 2023. Once it's closed, the game will go with it as well.
