How To Find Treasure Demons

You’ll encounter your first demon in Madarame’s Museum of Vanity, just after rescuing Mona from a laser tripwire trap. The game offers an in-depth tutorial to fighting and capturing Treasure Demons.

Treasure Demons will then start to appear on their own after that, albeit rarely. In palaces, they have a chance of popping out after you nab one of the small treasures, while they’ll simply appear on the tracks like other shadows in Mementos.

If you miss them in the palaces, then each Treasure Demon will appear in a specific path of Mementos, relative to which palace it appears in the main story.

You can increase the likelihood of finding Treasure Demons in Persona 5 Royal, too. If palace security is high, then they'll appear more frequently in your current palace, with the best likelihood of spawning after you've sent the Calling Card when security is maxed out.

Additionally, go to Mementos on bad weather days (like rain or snow), and you'll find more Treasure Demons in Mementos than normal.

For additional chances at finding Treasure Demons, Joker can craft a Treasure Trap at his desk. This item becomes available after Morgana's Confidant reaches Rank 6 on 7/25. You'll need:

  • Two Silk Yarn
  • Three Plant Balm
  • One Cork Bark

Fusing Treasure Demons In Persona 5 Royal

Treasure Demons can be used as fusion fodder in the Velvet Room like normal Personas to help you super-charge your new Personas. Fusing a Treasure Demon with another Persona will yield not only the abilities of the original Persona in the new one, but two additional innate abilities on top of this from the Treasure Demon.

Each Treasure Demon reacts differently to the individual arcana, meaning that some fusions, you'll find, aren't possible. Additionally, not all Personas you need to fuse have a Treasure Demon fusion option. If they do, though, Treasure Demon fusion is often cheaper than multiple-Persona fusions. Save your yen for Thieving stuff and reap additional innate abilities for the trouble.

When you fuse a Treasure Demon and a Persona, the resulting Persona from the fusion will always be the next Persona of the fusion Persona's arcana. If you're using a Treasure Demon to fuse with a Persona of the Fool arcana, for example, you'll receive the Persona in the Fool arcana with the next-highest level after your fusion Persona.

Finally, Treasure Demons grant between three and five times as much EXP upon fusion when used in the Gallows. If you'd rather itemize these rare demons instead, they'll almost all yield some pretty powerful gear for the Thieves to use in late-game battles.
