If you’ve played through Persona 5 Royal before, then you know that it’s no small feat to fully complete it. On average, the game takes people around 100 hours to finish the main storyline. Between the game’s dungeon crawling, hefty amount of dialogue, and social sim elements, it’s not surprising that players generally don’t get through it more quickly.

However, one speedrunner’s record laughs in the face of those stats, as they completed the game in just 14 hours and 23 minutes. How were they able to accomplish this? Part of it was luck and much of it was skill. But most importantly, this player took advantage of the recently found Shido's Palace skip, so that cut out a substantial amount of time from the total. In other Persona news, the series as a whole recently hit 15 million units sold worldwide. Atlus released a financial report that not only showed this, but also proves that Persona 4 Golden is still the top selling game with 2.4 million copies sold. There is currently no release date for Persona 6, but you can read about why some think that Atlus needs to change things up from Persona 5 going into the next game’s release.
