The world-famous Pin Gorilla Games Store was robbed on Saturday night.

If you live anywhere in the Seattle area, then you probably know about Pink Gorilla Games. The oldest indie game store still operating in Seattle, Washington, Pink Gorilla is the place to go for retro or imported games. They do trade-ins, restoration of old consoles, and deal with rare and valuable video games.

And they were robbed on Saturday night by some guy named "Jacob."

We know this because the perp was dumb enough to leave his name scrawled on the wall. That picture is courtesy of Cody, who goes by DSKoopa on Twitch and Twitter. He's co-owner of Pink Gorilla, and was actually streaming his nightly routine at the store before closing shop for the day. Pink Gorilla was robbed not an hour later.

More pics from co-owner Kesley Lewin shows that this was more of a smash and grab-style robbery than a Mission Impossible-style theft. The suspect crashed through the front door's glass window before making their way inside to smash display cases and steal big-ticket items like consoles and high-value retro games.

They did not steal the WonderSwans (a handheld game system released by Bandai in the late '90s) which Lewin suspects is due to a complete lack of gamer acumen.

Condolences came in from all across Twitter as fans and customers all reacted to the news.

Cody later tweeted that the suspect tried to fence the stolen goods at another game store down the street. The suspect's name, ID, and description were all captured, and they have video footage too. According to Cody, the perp was previously jailed for illegally manufacturing fentanyl--just to give you an idea of the type of person who would rob an indie games store.

Hopefully the cops track this guy down, return the stolen goods, and put the thief behind bars. Like, for many years. There’s no greater crime than the theft of an indie games store’s wares. Do they still have capital punishment in Washington? Maybe they should bring that back for a one-time exception in this case.
