But what a lot of people do not realize, is that Planet Coaster itself takes inspiration from many different theme parks and rides from around the world, bringing in similar, if not the same version of a ride that exists in real life, and we will provide 10 examples of that within this article.

10 Flying (Manta)

Kicking off the list with 'Flying,' which is a type of rollercoaster that is available for people to use on Planet Coaster and is exactly as it says on the tin, a ride that provides the thrill, and sensation of flying.

In these rides you are hoisted into a horizontal position as you lay with your feet dangling in the air as you face the floor, providing an incredibly unique feeling that other rides simply cannot provide.

In Planet Coaster, the pre-built version is actually based off the popular Seaworld Orlando attraction, Manta, with the blue color scheme and even the entranceway being almost the same in detail.

9 Mine Train (Big Thunder Mountain Railroad)

Obviously, Disney is not going to allow a video game to have the licence to their official ride names and the likes, as that would risk going against company image, but that doesn't stop the developers getting as close as possible.

Within Planet Coaster you can use a pre-programmed 'Mine Train,' which will have an awfully familiar feel to anybody who has visited the Magic Kingdom, with Big Thunder Mountain Railroad offering a similar experience.

If a player is dedicated enough to adding the necessary rock work, which can be done in the perfect Big Thunder shade, then it's actually possible to get a near replica of the ride on the game.

8 Launched-Hydraulic (Formula Rossa)

They might not come out and brand it as such, but Planet Coaster definitely has a version of Formula Rossa which is one of the popular options within the video game for people to choose from.

The fact you can even get the cars to look like a Ferrari, as on the real-life rollercoaster, shows how much inspiration they took here, using it as the perfect example of a Launched-Hydraulic rollercoaster.

The real ride can be found in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and is currently the fastest rollercoaster in the entire world, which is probably why the game was desperate to have it featured somehow.

7 4th Dimension Coaster (X2)

Another example of a rollercoaster that the game took inspiration from was the incredible X2 rollercoaster, which can be located at Six Flags Magic Mountain and is an incredibly extreme ride.

The game calls the ride the Fourth Dimension Coaster due to the crazy elements that it features, and it certainly has a resemblance to the real-life ride that was record-breaking at its time of creation.

While it might not be a ride type that is popularly located all around the world, it is certainly one of the crazier options that many would want as their main attraction in a video game theme park.

6 Gothic Castle (Disney)

It isn't just the rides themselves where Planet Coaster takes inspiration, as many of the buildings and designs that can be created also have taken little bits from the various parks around the world.

Of course, the Disney theme parks are arguably the most popular on earth, and you will struggle to find something more iconic than the classic Disney castle for a theme park icon to be placed slap bang in the middle.

On Planet Coaster, you can certainly create your own castle, with different styles of architecture and design being made available so the gamer can put their own twist on things.

5 Rapid Ride (Jurrasic Park River Cruise)

Even though coaster might be in the name of the game, that isn't the only type of ride that you can add to your theme park. After all, when you visit one in real life there tends to be a wide variety of rides.

One popular type of attraction is a water ride, with parks (especially in warmer climates) offering a way for guests to get wet and cool off on a summers day. Reflecting this the game has a wide variety.

One style is the rapids attraction, which can certainly be based upon the Jurrasic Park rides that are found in the Universal Studios parks, with dinosaurs being an option to add to make it even more realistic.

4 Studios Pack (Universal Studios)

Speaking of the Universal Studios parks, one of the main draws for the park in Hollywood is the fact that the theme park is located within a real, working studio set where movies and television shows are still filmed to this day.

Guests can ride a tram where they are taken on various sets and even have the chance to see some celebrities, as well as being put into the movies themselves with some ride elements and areas where things are already determined, such as actor appearances.

This is something that Planet Coaster has now added, with the Studios Pack, which is an entire DLC dedicated to this aspect of a theme park.

3 The Forbidden Jungle (Jungle Cruise)

Another popular Disney attraction that Planet Coaster has taken inspiration from is the Jungle Cruise, which is a gentle boat ride surrounding by audio-animatronic animals, making you feel like you're in the jungle for real.

Planet Coaster now has its own version of this from the Adventure Pack, which offers gamers a chance to create their own version of the ride, which is soon to be brought out as a live-action movie.

It might not be the most thrilling ride you can put into your park, and it probably isn't the first thing that springs to mind, but it is reliable and fun.

2 Robot Arm (Harry Potter And The Forbidden Journey)

This ride type is hard to explain, and the picture really does tell it the best, with the whole ride being dictated by a robot arm which moves along a track, with a set of seats attached, being tilted in various directions.

The ride creates quite a serious level of thrill and is actually very intense, with the best version of this being found at Islands of Adventure, with the ride based upon the popular Harry Potter franchise.

Obviously, that isn't the case in Planet Coaster as they don't have those rights, but it does allow you to use the ride technology and create your own themed world to be enjoyed by guests.

1 Frontier Sim Pack (Steel Vengeance)

Planet Coaster didn't hold anything back with this particular copycat, as not only did the game blatantly use the Steel Vengeance rollercoasters design, they actually went and put it in the game before the real-life ride was even open.

The popular attraction, which can be located at Cedar Point in Ohio broke 10 different records when it was officially created, but any enthusiast was able to experience it beforehand as Planet Coaster contained it.

While Cedar Point may not have been best pleased about it, at least it would have grown some interest and excitement surrounding the ride, with the game quickly rushing to include it due to how groundbreaking it was.
