It has been claimed that Hellena Taylor - voice actor of Bayonetta in the first two games in the series - was offered between $3,000 to $4,000 per session for five sessions to return to her role as Bayonetta for the third installment. This follows Taylor's video from last week in which she asked fans to boycott Bayonetta 3 after allegedly being offered just $4,000 for the whole game.This news comes from a report by Bloomberg reporter Jason Schreier, who reached out to his sources for developer PlatinumGames' side of the story. According to two people familiar with deal and documentation provided to Bloomberg, Taylor was offered much more than she previously claimed. It's also alleged that negotiations fell apart after Taylor asked for a six-figure deal along with residuals for her work, an offer which Platinum obviously turned down. Taylor was then allegedy offered a cameo role for the price of one session but refused.Taylor has responded to Bloomberg's report, completely denying Schreier's sources side of the argument calling it an "absolute lie." She then goes on to say that Platinum is "trying to save their ass and the game" before it releases later this month. It's worth noting that Axios reporter Stephen Totilo has also apparently heard from a "good source" that Taylor was offered at least $15,000 for her work.
Elsewhere, the current voice actor behind Bayonetta - Jennifer Hale - recently weighed in on the saga, claiming that she "support[s] every actor's right to be paid well," but stated that she can't speak more on the matter due to being bound by an NDA. However, it's pretty likely that Hale won't have been involved in negotations between Platinum and Taylor, although what she was paid to take on the role of Bayonetta is still unknown.
