PlayStation is having a busy week when it comes to acquisitions, adding Dutch studio Nixxes to its family today.

PlayStation continues to show it is serious about its acquisitions by announcing it has added yet another European studio to the Sony family. Nixxes, a developer based in the Netherlands that focuses largely on PC ports, will work under the PlayStation banner moving forward. Business Wire broke the news with PlayStation boss Hermen Hulst on hand to speak on what the acquisition of Nixxes means for PlayStation's future.

"Nixxes will be a strong asset for everyone across PlayStation Studios, helping our teams focus on their most important goal, which is to create unique PlayStation content at the best possible quality," Hulst said. Nixxes' founder Jurjen Katsma's comments very much echoed those of Housemarque earlier this week, saying that the team is excited to work with some of the best developers in the world.

For those of you unfamiliar with Nixxes work, the Dutch studio has been porting games to different platforms for various developers since the turn of the century. A large number of Tomb Raider games, the Deus Ex series, and even one of the Hitman titles. Its work with Crystal Dynamics has been extensive, even playing a major role in creating Marvel's Avengers' Operation Hawkeye expansion earlier this year

How much the deal is worth and what projects Nixxes will be working on going forward are yet to be revealed. PlayStation clearly has big plans in the pipeline though as its collection of studios continues to grow. That's two more this week, bringing its total up to 15 as the theoretical room in which Naughty Dog and Insomniac conduct their work continues to get more and more crowded.

That's not even accounting for the possibility that PlayStation has actually acquired three studios so far this week. As PlayStation broke the news that it haD acquired Housemarque, PlayStation Japan accidentally shared an image suggesting it had also acquired Bluepoint. That image was swiftly removed and PlayStation is yet to make an official comment on its accuracy.
