With PlayStation giving its players free PS4 background themes for some of its exclusive titles that are set to launch this year, like The Last of Us Part II, it seems that the company is continuing its acts of generosity. To be more specific, PlayStation has announced a new event for all players to take part in called PlayStation Player Celebration, with many prizes and rewards for those who sign up and partake in the event.
The information comes from the official PlayStation Blog which explains how the celebration event works, what players need to do, and what they can expect as a reward for their efforts. Going into more detail about the event itself, the PlayStation Player Celebration event calls upon all players to sign up and work together to achieve various milestones when it comes to playing games. In other words, all that players need to do is sign up for the event and play their favorite games (or any game for that matter) and unlock trophies to receive rewards for themselves and for others.
Those who choose to sign up for the event will also have a chance to win a PlayStation kit, which includes a real-life PlayStation Platinum Trophy engraved with their PSN ID on it, game voucher codes, and PlayStation Store credit codes. Additionally, the blog has also posted the milestones that have to be cleared in order for other rewards to be distributed. Once a milestone is cleared, the specified rewards will be delivered directly to a player's PS4 through a system notification. Additionally, progress for the next milestone will be available to complete.
As far as the rewards go, players can expect to earn various background themes and avatars modeled after some of the most iconic and memorable PlayStation exclusive games and characters like Horizon Zero Dawn and God of War.
Sign-ups for the PlayStation Player Celebration event are available right now, with the first milestone ready to be unlocked starting on February 24th. The event will either end on March 15th or when all milestones have been achieved by the community.
