The PlayStation Blog recently asked developers which games they were looking forward to the most in 2021, and they replied with a wide variety of titles. The console has a stacked lineup in the coming months, with Deathloop, Gran Turismo 7, and Horizon Forbidden West all planned to launch by the end of the year.

Here are the games that game developers are most looking forward to playing.

Deathloop

Arkane's upcoming shooter was one of the most popular titles on the list, with developers from Fall Guys, Crash Bandicoot 4, and Genshin Impact all eager to get their hands on the time-looping mayhem. “Deathloop really intrigues me. I love the over-the-top action and funky 60’s/70’s tone of it all," said Louis Studdart, Producer on Crash Bandicoot 4.

"I don’t quite know how it all fits together with all the time looping and the dual protagonists, but I’m also excited by that unknown quality at this point. It seems really unique. Pair that with the always distinct and creative first-person action that Arkane is known for delivering and I am onboard.”

The Next God of War

We don't know when it will drop, but folks are still eager to see where the series goes next. Brian Horton, Creative Director on Miles Morales, said, "It’s not an easy task to reinvent a beloved franchise like God of War, and the 2018 game exceeded expectations, delivering a personal story about father and son, a stunning world and incredible mechanics. I can’t wait to see how the characters grow and how they build on the amazing foundation of the first game with the power of PS5.”

Horizon Forbidden West

“I loved Horizon Zero Dawn and I can’t wait to see how the team at Guerrilla evolve such a masterpiece," wrote Shaun Escayg, Creative Director on Marvel's Avengers. Escayg isn't alone, numerous other devs jumped in to call Forbidden West their most anticipated game of 2021.

Other noticeable entries on the list include Gran Turismo, Kena: Bridge of Spirits, Elden Ring, Little Devil Inside, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, and Resident Evil Village.
