The PlayStation 4's time in the spotlight is ending soon with the PlayStation 5 now on the horizon. It had a great run of exclusive games that continually broke sales records. Video games sales are not always officially revealed unless a developer wants to brag, which means some sales figures do not come from the official announcements but independent investigations.

Sales are also released for different time periods such as the first three days to two months. With that being said, we still have a decent idea of the fasting-selling games, thanks to developer announcements and statistics from the NPD Group.

10 DAYS GONE: 229,182 Physical UK Sales In Six Months

Featuring an open-world in Oregon, a detailed motorcycle, and hordes of zombies, Days Gone is a weird entry not because it stars a zombie-fighting biker. Rather, it's because there is no official announcement of sales from Sony and the only official number comes from a UK sales report, which was reported on by Pushsquare.

The 229,182 UK sales were enough to beat out other games that released at the around the same time, including Anthem and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. Even after mediocre critic reviews, Days Gone's lifetime sales were enough to put it on the best selling PlayStation exclusives list.

9 MLB THE SHOW 18: 412,691 Physical Sales In One Week

MLB The Show 18 touted RPG progression and narrative choices, and a team creator featuring some of the most famous players.

Just like Days Gonesales for MLB The Show were not officially revealed but VGChartz estimated that it sold 412,691 physical copies in one week.

8 BLOODBORNE: 1 Million In 1 Month

Considered by some to be the one true Dark Souls successor, Bloodborne was a surprise From Software exclusive for the PlayStation 4. It took the same demanding combat from Dark Souls and put it in a horror-filled gothic setting.

It reached 1 million sales in one month and was the quality game we've come to expect from From Software. Fans are speculating a sequel or remaster for the PlayStation 5 as well as a PC release.

7 INFAMOUS SECOND SON: 1 Million In Nine Days

Sucker Punch started the PlayStation 4 generation with Infamous Second Son and is ending it with Ghost of Tsushima. The studio showed off the PlayStation 4's power with its beautiful particle effects, and now they'll be closing its time with yet another display of amazing game development and capabilities.

Infamous Second Son's 1 million sales in nine days was a big accomplishment for Sucker Punch, which they bragged about on the PlayStation Blog. Ghost of Tsushima is bound to blow these sales out of the water when it releases on July 17.

6 HORIZON ZERO DAWN: 2.6 Million In 2 Weeks

Guerilla Games took a big risk when they transitioned from Killzonea recognized first-person shooter, to Horizon Zero Dawn, an open-world RPG dominated by strange mechanical creatures. Needless to say, the risk paid off. The game sold 2.6 million in two weeks, the biggest debut from Guerilla Games, according to Polygon.

The second game Horizon: Forbidden West was recently announced for the PlayStation 5  and it looks to be Sony's next signature franchise.

5 UNCHARTED 4: THIEF'S END: 2.7 Million In A Week

The final chapter of the Uncharted series was another hit for Naughty Dog. It told a captivating story about greed that also featured stunning set-pieces. According to Polygon, it sold 2.7 million copies, digital and physical, during its launch week, which was record-breaking for its time.

The fourth entry ended the franchise in a heartwarming and complete way, making for a satisfying end to the treasure hunting adventures of the irreplaceable Nathan Drake.

4 GOD OF WAR (2018): 3.1 Million In Three Days

This new take on Kratos after a long hiatus proved to be a successful experiment. It was fascinating to see the once angry and bloodthirsty demigod try to be a good father and reign in his rage.

Because of this and a new gameplay perspective, the latest God Of War scored an impressive 94 on Metacritic and achieved 3.1 million sales in three days. Now, gamers are anxiously waiting for the story to continue with the inevitable sequel.

3 MARVEL'S SPIDER-MAN: 3.3 Million In Three Days

Quite possibly the best received Marvel game to date, Marvel's Spider-Man was a huge success story for superhero games, Marvel, and Sony. It was the best-selling superhero game, according to Gameinformer, beating out Batman Arkham City. Insomniac's game was also a big win for video games as a medium.

The 3.3 million in sales means it made about $198 million compared to Spider-Man Homecoming's box office opening of $117 million, according to USA Today.

2 FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE: 3.5 Million In Three Days

The long-awaited Final Fantasy VII remake was met with critical and commercial success. It has an 87 on Metacritic and its sales made Square Enix a happy publisher. The game sold 3.5 million, digital and physical, within three days.

The upgraded take on the classic game also became the best-selling entry for the franchise, according to DestructoidFor right now the remake is exclusive to PlayStation 4 owners but sales will only go up when it releases on other platforms in April 2021.

1 THE LAST OF US PART II: 4 Million In Three Days

Sony and Naughty Dog are proud to tout The Last Of Us Part 2's impressive sales figures. The controversial game about revenge in the post-apocalypse garnered 4 million sales within three days. As of this writing, this is the fastest-selling PlayStation game despite a myriad of internet hate regarding some polarizing narrative decisions.

To put this in perspective, the sequel beat out the original The Last Of Us' own sales records. The first game was the fastest-selling PlayStation 3 game, which had 3.4 million sales in three weeks, according to Cnet.
