Toro and Friends: Onsen Town, a free-to-play mobile puzzle game, will be releasing worldwide later this month. You might be asking, what separates this from the many other F2P puzzle games on mobile? Well, this one stars the titular Toro Inoue, an anthropomorphic cat that acts as Sony Japan's mascot.

The core gameplay should look familiar to anyone that tried out titles like Candy Crush, offering up more than 300 stages of match 3 puzzling.

When not matching up various types of fruit, players will be following Toro's adventures in Atsuma-Sora, a town that has seen better days. Completing stages and earning coins will let you renovate the town, while also giving new furniture options for your room.

Most characters that appear in Toro and Friends: Onsen Town are taken from the Doko Demo franchise, none of which having released in English. Most PlayStation fans in the west will likely only recognise Toro and Kuro, thanks to their cameos in games like PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale and Street Fighter x Tekken.

Toro and Friends: Onsen Town will be releasing June 23rd, available on the App Store and Google Play. Depending on the number of pre-registrations, certain rewards will be available, including in-game currency and costume boosters.
