Despite the PS4 being a very successful console full of well-received titles like God of War and The Last of Us, it has its bugs like any other device. For instance, before Call of Duty: Modern Warfare came out, information was revealed that PS4 owners of the game would get exclusive access to one of the game modes, while Xbox and PC players would have to wait one year to access it as well. That did not sit well with a lot of people (including PS4 players), and many took to the internet to voice their frustration at the decision.

Now, there seems to be another issue, albeit a more technical one that pertains to the PlayStation Now platform. PlayStation Now is a subscription-based streaming service that allows users to download and stream various games, including PS2 and PS3 titles, to their Ps4 and PC. However, a rather inconvenient bug is causing problems for some of the subscribers by preventing them from accessing certain titles even if they already purchased them in the past.

To be more specific about the issue, it basically occurs when a subscriber chooses to download a game from PlayStation Now, but the game is unavailable to add to their list. The unavailable status may stem from it being on the PlayStation Store or if it is free through PlayStation Plus. To make matters worse, PlayStation Now can also remove games from its streaming service, meaning that subscribers will lose the opportunity to play a game even if they got it through PlayStation Plus in the past.

In simpler terms, the entire system has trouble distinguishing PlayStation Plus games from PlayStation Now games (even if they are the same) via licensing. If a game is removed from PlayStation Now or if one no longer wants to subscribe to the service, they will have to purchase the game even if it's free on PlayStation Plus.

According to a post on the PS4 subreddit, the problem has been going on for some time now and Sony has done little to nothing about it. Although some users do provide temporary solutions, one major update to the entire system has not been implemented. Hopefully, the issue will be addressed by Sony at one point in the future and PlayStation Now subscribers won't have to deal with it anymore.
