With 2020 out of the way, it’s time to look ahead to the future. The first few months already look packed for both PlayStation console lineups. From AAA games like Outriders to smaller titles like Cyber Shadow, the first quarter of 2021 should be one to remember.

There are also a lot of games expected to come out in 2021 that are still without specific dates. Whenever a year pops up in a trailer, it’s hard to know if that is just a goal or a hard fact. Delays happen all the time. Just look at Cyberpunk 2077 from last year. So, maybe these ten titles will slip out of the year, but for now, get excited at the possibilities.

10 Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart

This will be the first game in the Ratchet & Clank series since the 2016 reboot on PS4. Needless to say, as much as fans dug Insomniac’s take on Spider-Man, they have also been itching for a new Ratchet & Clank for some time now.

Hopefully, those rifts shown in the demos will be just as seamless in the final product. Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart will be a true PS5 exclusive.

9 God of War: Ragnarok

“Ragnarok is coming.” That is the only thing said or shown in the teaser trailer for this game besides the Omega symbol and 2021. It may seem like that is too soon for a sequel, but the last entry in the franchise was back in 2018 on PS4.

Therefore, it is possible for a new entry to ship within three years. As of right now, God of War: Ragnarok, as a tentative title, is also a PS5 exclusive.

8 Horizon Forbidden West

The first game, Horizon Zero Dawn, was all the way back in 2017. That was also just days before Nintendo not only launched the Switch but also a game that would change everything, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

The two titles attracted a lot of comparisons and, consequently, Horizon Zero Dawn perhaps got a little overshadowed. Hopefully, this sequel won’t suffer the same fate. Unlike the previous two titles, Horizon Forbidden West will be coming to PS4 and PS5.

7 Gran Turismo 7

Gran Turismo is notorious for getting delays throughout its history as a PlayStation franchise. The last game was Gran Turismo Sport in 2017 which was received well but not as much as previous entries.

Currently, this new game is slated for 2021, but based on history, it’s a real tossup. Gran Turismo 7 will be another PS5 exclusive.

6 Ghostwire: Tokyo

Even though Microsoft bought Bethesda, the company has kept its word that this game, Ghostwire: Tokyo, is still going to be a Sony exclusive at launch. That said, Ghostwire: Tokyo will be coming to PC along with PS5 so Microsoft is not truly out.

This will be the first Tango Gameworks title since 2017's The Evil Within 2. Ghostwire: Tokyo is very different from that game and series overall, but based on the studio's track record, it should be good.

5 Kena: Bridge of Spirits

Kena: Bridge of Spirits was supposed to come out at launch for the PS5. In fact, it might have even been on PS4 prior to that. However, it got delayed out of 2020 into Q1 2021. That usually means that the game should ship by the end of March at the latest.

For those unaware, this will be Ember Lab’s first game, but they did work on a Zelda fan film that was popular, Majora's Mask: Terrible Fate. Kena: Bridge of Spirits is coming to PS4, PS5, and PC.

4 F.I.S.T.: Forged In Shadow Torch

F.I.S.T.: Forged In Shadow Torch will be the debut game for Shanghai TiGames Network Technology Limited. The game is a Metroidvania starring a rabbit with mechanical enhancements out to stop a robot invasion.

F.I.S.T.: Forged in Shadow Torch is coming to PS4, PS5, and PC. The latest trailer at the 2020 Game Awards said Spring 2021, although an exact date has yet to be announced.

3 Resident Evil Village

Resident Evil Village’s date or lack thereof is a bit weird. Since Resident Evil VII, every reveal since then has had a date, or a subsequent trailer soon after will have one. This game got two trailers last year but no direct date.

This might indicate the game is further off from completion than Capcom would hope, but one never knows. Resident Evil Village will launch on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X.

2 Gotham Knights

This will be the first game from WB Games Montréal since Batman: Arkham Origins in 2013. The studio did, however, work on DLC packages for Batman: Arkham Knight that were released in 2015.

Gotham Knights will be sort of like the previous games but it will also focus on co-op and star Nightwing, Batgirl, Robin, and Red Hood. It will be coming to PC and PlayStation and Xbox consoles.

1 Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance

Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance was another game that was delayed out of 2020. Not much of the game has actually been shown since its initial 2019 CG trailer. Even the platforms are a mystery, although it is predicted to drop on PC and consoles.

It can be expected that Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance will be an action RPG like the previous games. For some background information, Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance II released in 2004.
