Sony is slashing the prices of some of the hottest titles on the Playstation Store as part of its Summer Sale event.

It's been a great year for Sony so far. They are breaking sales records, and even though they decided to skip E3 this year, we still got a glimpse at the highly anticipated Final Fantasy VII Remake. Looking beyond the PS4, we have confirmation that the "PlayStation 5" is in development, and it will be a console that "serious gamers" will love.

To help us "serious gamers" beat the summer heat, Sony has been generous enough to launch a Summer Sale on the Playstation Store. Hundreds of digital titles are being heavily discounted, with prices ranging from 30% to 75% off. Sony ran another sale earlier this year during E3, cutting prices on several Playstation-exclusive titles, and offering hardware at discounted prices. This time around, it's digital downloads only, and most of the titles on sale are not exclusives. Here are a few of the highlights.

Grand Theft Auto V

Even though it was launched way back in 2013, Rockstar's hit title refuses to stop selling in record numbers. With over 90 million copies sold, it's highly unlikely the game isn't in your library. On the off chance you haven't played the title, now is the time to do so, as the title is currently only $14.99.

Another Rockstar game, another work of art. Red Dead Redemption 2 is 35% off right now, selling for $38.99.

Devil May Cry 5

Released only a few months ago in March, Sony is offering Devil May Cry 5 for only $39.59. The game has been a huge success for Capcom, and its digital downloads played a large part in Capcom's soaring profits.

Other highlights from the sale include:

  • The Division 2 ($38.99)
  • NBA 2K19 ($25.79)
  • Injustice 2 ($29.99)
  • Battlefield V ($23.99)
  • Rocket League ($9.99)
  • The Witcher 3 (14.99)

Digital sales are a sure-fire way to help boost profits, especially during this time of year when we usually see a drought of new game releases. If you aren't busy playing Madden, perhaps one of the games on sale can keep you busy until all the Fall releases start to drop.
