Over the years there have been plenty of songs inspired by the Pokemon series. We’ve gotten catchy theme songs going all the way back to 1997 and original music based on movies, films, games, and more. Pokemon fans have even been treated to official ambient lo-fi beats featuring the natural sounds of the Pokemon world.

10 Phases - Jax Jones With Sinead Harnett

Off of the Pokemon 25: The Album, Phases by Jax Jones with Sinead Harnett has an incredibly fun music video to go along with their catchy song. Starting off with Jax Jones playing Pokemon on his DS and creepily getting snuck up on by a giant Pikachu, the music video grows to feature several oversized Pikachus and a choreographed dance around a giant Pokeball.

Listen to this, and you’ll be ready to travel from city to city, fighting through tall grass and traveling with your Pokemon partner together.

9 Only Wanna Be With You - Post Malone

Another song from the Pokemon 25th anniversary, this performance features a digital Post Malone surrounded by all sorts of Pokemon. Originally part of a longer digital performance, Post Malone covered the Hootie & the Blowfish song because it was also celebrating its 25th anniversary. Watching Post Malone travel in his digital bubble through a wide range of ecosystems with all sorts of Pokemon by his side is a special treat.

8 Believing - Lil Yachty

This chill song from Lil Yachty is the perfect beat to listen to while traveling down Route 1 on your way to Viridian City. With an ethereal feel and dreamy aesthetic, Lil Yachty sets the scene for a wonderful adventure with your Pokemon partner.

This song from the Pokemon 25th anniversary album features a great couple of lines with classic Pokemon pals like Charmander, Jigglypuff, and Pikachu.

7 Ed Sheeran - Celestial

Ed Sheeran’s dreamy single Celestial has the singer waking up to a Pokemon daydream. Together with his GameBoy and super fun cartoon transitions throughout his day, Ed Sheeran sings about getting through the day with the help of his Pokemon friends.

Celestial is an upbeat and inspirational song with tons of heart for Pokemon fans of all ages. There’s even a cool animated section that has Sheeran taking Ash’s place in the climactic battle between Mew and Mewtwo during the events of Pokemon: The First Movie.

6 Take It Home - Mabel

Take It Home by Mabel was featured on the Pokemon 25 Album, with the original version appearing on the Pokemon 25: The Red EP and a remixed version by ZHU on the Pokémon 25: The Blue EP.

Mabel chases a Jigglypuff through the hallways of a hotel, coming across a Pikachu and what seems to be a lovely dream. This catchy song is so good, Jigglypuff doesn’t even try to upstage Mable during the entire music video.

5 Reconnect - Yaffle Feat. Daichi Yamamoto & AAAMYYY

Reconnect by Yaffle featuring Daichi Yamamoto & AAAMYYY is packed full of tons of really cool references and throwbacks for Pokemon fans to enjoy. The song opens up with the classic Pokemon Red and Blue battle music and has bits of retro sound effects scattered throughout the song.

4 Game Girl - Louane

A playful take on the classic Game Boy handled system, Louane’s Game Girl is a great song about togetherness. Game Girl features lyrics in both French and English and has some strong '90s vibes with her outfits and set design for the music video. With plenty of Pokemon imagery and giant statues of Pikachu in dark hallways, Louane’s catchy song is a great choice for the Pokemon 25 Album.

3 Carry On - Kygo & Rita Ora

This original song for the Detective Pikachu film by Kygo actually features singer and actress Rita Ora on vocals and in the music video. Ora also played Dr. Ann Laurent in the film. With lyrics about coping with loss and healing from it, Carry On is a great addition to the film and any Pokemon fan’s music collection. The music video features clips from Detective Pikachu as well as some original shots of Ora in Ryme City.

2 Electric - Katy Perry

Electric by Katy Perry is a relatable and catchy song about growth and stepping out into the unknown. Alongside her faithful Pikachu, Katy sings a powerful pop ballad all about finding strength in herself while going back in time to her first performance. The music video depicts a young Katy Perry, just starting off doing small shows with her guitar, and a little Pichu at her side. Katy gives off some strong Jessie vibes with her hiding-in-plain-sight costumes during her younger self's show.

1 Pokemon Gotcha! - Bump Of Chicken

This absolutely dazzling music video from the Japanese rock band Bump of Chicken of their song Acacia was released to celebrate the release of the Crown Tundra DLC for Pokemon Sword and Shield. With animation done by Bones, Gotcha takes the viewer on a journey through the history of Pokemon, showing off tons of Pokemon and their trainers, fighting, exploring, and learning together.

With so many little references in the video, it's hard to keep track of everything that’s going on in one viewing.
