If there’s one thing everybody knows about the Pokemon series, it’s that Snorlax is always hungry. That means the Snorlax being added in Pokémon Café Mix’s new update is going to be one heck of a tricky customer to please.

As the famous The Legend of Zelda quote/meme says, "It’s dangerous to go alone. Take this." Ever since, this line has been engrained in gamers’ memories as a sign that it’s okay to accept help where needed. Some tasks are just too great for one person alone and feeding an especially hungry Snorlax is one of them.

For the uninitiated, Pokemon Cafe Mix is a puzzle title that launched for Nintendo Switch and mobile devices in June 2020. It’s a simple icon-matching title with adorable storybook presentation, in which the player and Eevee must please Pokémon that visit their café by getting their orders right and matching the icons together effectively.

It’s a fun little distraction (and provided the inspiration for some of Japan’s real-life Pokémon cafés to undergo stunning makeovers), but as is sometimes to be expected of a free-to-play title, it was a little lacking in content. Not to worry, though, because The Pokemon Company has just brought a substantial amount of new content to the title.

The most important addition is the ability to form teams and take on a team event together. As NintendoLife reports, players can form new teams (becoming team captain in the process) by paying 300 golden acorns. After that, up to 29 other players can be recruited from existing or new friends.

The event focuses around a hungry Snorlax, which will visit players’ café and –predictably—expects only the finest treats. Perform well enough and it will join your staff, bringing a handy Café Skill for eradicating pesky puzzle elements along with it!

The Snorlax event runs until October 8. The team also promises similar events will run in the future, presumably featuring different Pokemon. Bonuses for forming teams are currently available, too – 300 golden acorns for each member who joins you and the special Team Order pack in the in-game store, featuring the super cute Snorlax Maniac Pikachu – so there’s no time like the present to try out the casual Pokemon game.
