Pokémon cards that will be released in conjunction with Detective Pikachu have given us a closer look at some of the creatures we will be seeing in the movie.

We are now only a little more than two months away from the theatrical release of Detective Pikachu. As if we weren't excited enough for May 10, last week a brand new trailer dropped for the movie, revealing a whole lot more about what we can expect from it. This included a lot of the Pokémon that will appear in the movie, and it seems that there will be boatloads of cameo appearances.

Bulbasaur, Greninja, Charizard, Aipom - we'll stop there otherwise we might be here all day. Admittedly, some of the Pokémon that featured in last week's trailer were only spotted by eagle-eyed fans. It likely took quite a few viewings, too. Thankfully, the release of some Pokémon card images has given us a closer look at a few of them courtesy of IGN.

Where do we even start? How about Ditto? That's right, if these special edition Detective Pikachu Pokémon cards are anything to go by, Ditto will be making an appearance in the movie. Who knows, it may have appeared repeatedly in the trailer disguised as various other creatures. Moving on, we also have a pretty cool yet still adorable looking Snubbull.

Our personal favorite from the selection that has been released so far has to be Arcanine. We can't put our finger on it, but it isn't exactly how we would have pictured a live-action Arcanine - it's even better. There's also a full-length image of Lickitung that we could have done without. It's only move being "continuous lick" makes its inclusion infinitely worse.

Magikarp, Machamp, Morelull, and Charmander are just a few of the others that have made the Pokémon card cut. There are also a couple of pretty awesome Mewtwo images that have been used, keeping us pondering over what its role will be in the movie.

The best news of all about the cards is that you will not have to wait another two months to get your hands on them. They are currently scheduled to hit the shelves on April 5.
