The sixth generation of Pokémon takes place in the French-inspired Kalos Region. The region is best known for introducing both Fairy-types and the phenomenon of Mega Evolution into the game.

However, those two exciting aspects should not overshadow the many Pokémon that are native to the Kalos Region. In fact, twelve bold personalities of Kalos stand out as the signs of the Zodiac.

12 Aries: Hawlucha

When it comes to competitions, an Aries has a fighting spirit like no other. They not only rise up to the challenge but also enjoy being able to show off their skills.

Hawlucha is the masked bird who knows how to wrestle. As the only current Fighting/Flying-type Pokémon in the game, it loves to show off its type advantage against the strongest fighters with its signature move, Flying Press.

11 Taurus: Klefki

Taurus are folks who will stand their ground. They have their own set of strong opinions and habits that cannot be changed so easily.

Despite its tiny appearance, Klefki is quite stubborn when it comes to both its prized keys and battling. It will refuse to give up its favorite keys to anyone and is an excellent staller who won't budge on the battlefield.

10 Gemini: Vivillon

Vivillon floats and glimmers.

Geminis approach situations with an open mind. This allows them to develop flexible opinions and adapt to everything as they go.

Vivillon is one of many butterfly Pokémon, but what sets it apart is the adaptable pattern on its wings. It naturally adapts to its environment and climate, which is why certain wing patterns can only be found in certain parts of the world.

9 Cancer: Gogoat

Cancers have a way of tending to people on a deeper level. With that tender nature, they develop a knack for empathy.

The Grass-type, Gogoat, is a perfect goat to ride due to its special empathic powers. When the rider holds onto its long horns, Gogoat can sense their feelings and therefore build an unspoken bond with the rider.

8 Leo: Pyroar

Leos are known for their power to unite and lead others. They thrive in group settings and proceed with a mindset that is beneficial to all.

As a mighty lion Pokémon, Pyroar makes an excellent Leo. In their prides, the male Pyroar will lead and protect its kind, while the females tend to stay back with the cubs. Together, they ensure that their pride thrives.

7 Virgo: Aegislash

Virgos like to plan ahead by analyzing situations and determining the next best course of action. They excel in anything involving strategy, such as competitive Pokémon.

With its signature Ability, Stance Change, Aegislash's competitive usage is based around anticipating its opponent's next move. If it sees an opening, it'll power up with its Blade Form to attack. On the other hand, if it anticipates a powerful move from its opponent, it'll stay in Shield Form.

6 Libra: Furfrou

Beyond their charm and sophistication, Libras are loved for their balanced nature. Rather than starting conflicts, they're great at maintaining the peace.

A very classy Pokémon is the Normal-type Furfrou. Known for its many haircuts, Furfrou is pampered by its trainer to look fancy and fresh at all times. This leads to many friendly competitions and debates over whose Furfrou is the best.

5 Scorpio: Malamar

Scorpios are strongminded people who know what they want. When they desire something, they will not hesitate to chase after it.

Malamar is an upside-down squid with numerous tricks up its sleeve to get what it wants. Using its potent hypnotic powers, it can control its victims into doing all of its dirty work. That way, it can maintain control while not having to take responsibility for certain consequences.

4 Sagittarius: Goodra

A Sagittarius follows their interests and whatever appeals to them. Because they focus on what makes them happy, they tend to come with a carefree personality.

Goodra is one of the sweetest Pokémon of the Kalos Region. It loves to give its trainer a friendly hug, though it's not always the most reliable Pokémon when it comes to following orders. Still, Goodra makes a bubbly addition to any trainer's party.

3 Capricorn: Trevenant

Capricorns tend to distance themselves from others but will also be responsible and considerate of those it must coexist with.

For a tree, Trevenant is awfully terrifying when provoked. It has taken it upon itself to ensure the safety of its forest habitat and will trap or curse anyone who tries to cut it down. At the same time, it is quite caring toward the Pokémon it lives with.

2 Aquarius: Florges

An Aquarius does things at their own pace and in their own ways. They love having the freedom to focus on what really matters to them.

As a flower fairy, Florges' passion is, of course, flowers. With a lifespan of hundreds of years, the Fairy-type could accomplish many different things, but it chooses to dedicate all its time to peacefully tending to flower gardens.

1 Pisces: Gourgeist

Pisces thrive in creative environments. They often use any form of art as an outlet for their creativity and as a way to entice others.

Although Gourgeist has the appearance of a jolly pumpkin that sings, its intentions are quite dark. Believe it or not, its songs are actually a sign of the listener's death.
