Pokémon has had many different mainline games in the series over the years, and players were ecstatic when Nintendo decided to port many Generation 1 and Generation 2 games to the 3DS. Players have gotten the chance to experience many different regions in the Pokémon world throughout lots of different entries in the franchise.

Most players use their Switch as their primary Nintendo console in 2020, which is why it would make sense for Nintendo to port some of the older Pokémon games over to the Nintendo Switch so that players that don't own a 3DS can enjoy all of these famous titles.

10 Omega Ruby And Alpha Sapphire

Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire are the remakes of the Generation 3 games, Ruby and Sapphire. These games were remade with 3D graphics on the 3DS system, which gave the Hoenn region a fresh new appearance.

Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire also feature Mega Evolutions and an added Delta Episode, which was not present in the original games. These two games would be perfect for a Switch port because many fans that didn't own a 3DS could experience the Hoenn remakes in all their glory.

9 Black & White

The original Black and White games were a reboot of the franchise in a way because they only allowed players to catch Unova Pokémon until they had defeated the Elite Four.

This feature is different from every other Pokémon game because most regions allow players to catch a plethora of Pokémon from every different region during their adventure. Black and White definitely took the franchise in a unique direction, and it would be great to experience these games on the Switch.

8 SoulSilver and HeartGold

SoulSilver and HeartGold were remakes of the original Gold and Silver games that released in generation 2. These games allow players to experience the Johto region with bright new graphics and with Hoenn and Sinnoh Pokémon as well.

A few great features of HeartGold and SoulSilver are Pokémon following the player in the overworld and getting to experience the Kanto region after beating the Elite Four. It would be nice to bring this large adventure to the Switch at some point in the future.

7 Platinum

Platinum was the last Pokémon game set in the Sinnoh region that fans have experienced, and it added new features and improved upon the story of Pokémon Diamond and Pearl. in this game; players will get to choose between the three starters Chimchar, Piplup, and Turtwig.

Many Pokémon fans are hoping for a Sinnoh remake in the next few years; however, it would be great to have Platinum to hold fans over until Gamefreak develops the remake. Hopefully, Pokémon Platinum will be ported to the Switch within the next few years.

6 X and Y

Pokémon X and Y were the first 3D games that players got to experience; every previous game in the mainline Pokémon franchise had 2D sprites. Another amazing feature introduced in X and Y is the amount of customization that players could have for their in-game avatar.

It would be great to see an X and Y Switch port because players will probably not get a sequel or remake of the Kalos region for quite a while since Generation 6 only released seven years ago.

5 Ultra Sun And Ultra Moon

Similar to other Pokémon games on this list, Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon were an extension of sorts to the original Sun and Moon games. They added new plot points, including new information about the Ultra Beasts, and there were also a lot of new things scattered throughout the game, such as a new trial leader.

If Gamefreak wants to port an Alola game to the Switch, then it would be best to port Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon because they are the newest and best Alola games, and they have a lot of endgame content.

4 Yellow

Pokémon Yellow was the third English game to release in the Pokémon franchise, and it improved the main story of Pokémon Red and Blue by allowing the player to have Pikachu as their starter and expanding the Team Rocket storyline.

Pokémon Yellow was one of the first Pokémon games ever, and many fans have nostalgic feelings towards it, which is why it would be the perfect game to port to the Switch. In addition, Pokémon Yellow has already been ported to the 3DS, so it seems logical that Gamefreak's next step would be to port this game to the Switch.

3 LeafGreen And FireRed

LeafGreen and FireRed were the Generation 3 remakes of the Generation 1 Kanto games. Players will experience both better graphics and a larger Pokédex in these remakes of Red and Blue.

Not only did LeafGreen and FireRed expand on the graphics and Pokédex of the original games, but it also expanded the end game content by adding the Sevii Islands to explore after the player has defeated the Elite Four. Players get to experience an all-new Team Rocket storyline on the Sevii Islands, and it adds a lot more depth to the Kanto storyline.

2 Emerald

Pokémon Emerald was the sequel of Ruby and Sapphire, and it introduced a new storyline revolving around the legendary Pokémon Rayquaza. It also introduced the Battle Tower as end game content after the player defeats the Elite Four.

Many players consider Emerald to be even better than Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire despite the fact that it is a much older game. Generation 3 fans would be thrilled to see Pokémon Emerald come to the Switch, and this is one of the best games that Nintendo could add to their newest console.

1 Black 2 And White 2

Black 2 and White 2 are the direct sequels of Pokémon Black and White, and they added a brand new storyline featuring both new and returning characters from the first game. There were lots of great features introduced in these games, including the ability for Kyurem to fuse with Reshiram and Zekrom.

Most sequel Pokémon games are only a slight upgrade; however, Pokémon Black 2 and White 2 were extremely different from there predecessor games end even allowed players to catch Pokémon from other regions in the Unova region. It is likely that fans won't see a remake of any Generation 5 games for years, and as such, it seems logical for Nintendo to port Pokémon Black 2 and White 2 to the Switch since it is a fan-favorite game.
