Pokemon Go is hosting Adventure Week, one of the newest events added to the game's annual calendar. Taking place from Thursday, July 27, at 10am local to Wednesday, August 2, at 8pm local time, this event will offer Trainers a variety of features and changes to the game during this event window.
Like last year's event, Adventure Week is themed around a variety of Fossil Pokemon, ancient Pokemon introduced throughout different generations of the franchise. Use the following information to learn everything there is to know about this year's Adventure Week event, allowing you to take full advantage of what is being offered.

Event Wild Encounters
For this year's Adventure Week, there will be specific Pokemon that will be found in the wild during the time of this event. Make sure to log in and adventure in Pokemon Go to encounter the following event Pokemon.

This will be the first time that both Amaura and Tyrunt will have the chance to be Shiny in Pokemon Go.
Event Eggs
During this limited-time event, there will be specific Pokemon that can be hatched from 7 km Eggs. Make sure to adventure and hatch these Eggs during the event window to obtain some of the following Pokemon.
- Tirtouga
- Archen
- Tyrunt
- Amaura
Both Tyrunt and Amaura hatched from these Eggs will have an increased chance of being Shiny.
Event Raid Pokemon
During this event, Trainers will also see a change in the Pokemon that are typically found in Raids. For this year's Adventure Week you will be able to battle Regidrago in Five-Star Raids for the first time and Mega Tyranitar in Mega Raids for the first time.
Make sure you take advantage of these two Pokemon appearing in Raids while you can, as it is uncertain when you will be able to defeat and catch them in the future.
Event Research
Event Field Research Encounters
During Adventure Week, there will be specific Pokemon that are encountered upon completing Event Field Research tasks. Obtain and complete Field Research tasks during the event window for a chance to encounter and catch the following event-themed Pokemon.

Event Timed Research
There will be free Timed Research available to all players during this event. There will be two different paths available for this Timed Research, either centered around exploration or research.
Additionally, there will be Paid Timed Research available, costing $2.00 USD at the in-game shop. Completing this Paid Timed Research will earn you encounters with event Pokemon, two Incubators, and a Super Incubator.
Both the free and paid Timed Research will expire at the end of this event.
Make sure that you complete all tasks and claim all rewards before they expire with the conclusion Adventure Week.
Event Collection Challenge
There will be an Adventure Week-themed Collection Challenge available to complete during this event. Catching all Pokemon require for this specific Collection Challenge will reward you with Stardust and encounters with Amaura and Tyrunt.
Event Bonuses
There will be different bonuses offered throughout the duration of Adventure Week this year. Make sure to log in during this event window to take advantage of the following event bonuses.
- 2x XP from spinning PokeStops.
- 5x XP from spinning PokeStops for the first time.
- 1/2 Hatch Distance when Eggs are placed in an Incubator during the event window.
