With their recent update to Mega Evolutions and Mega Raids, Pokemon Go has since debuted a handful of new Mega Evolutions available in this title. Mega Latias and Mega Latios are the latest examples of this, making their debut as the first Legendary Mega Evolutions in the game in conjunction with a limited-time event: Pokemon Air Adventures.
This limited-time event will be taking place from Tuesday, May 3, at 10 a.m. to Sunday, May 8, at 8 p.m. In addition to debuting these two Mega Evolutions, there will be several event bonuses available to trainers during this event window. Learn everything you need to know about the Pokemon Air Adventures event to ensure that you are taking advantage of all the benefits present during this time.
Pokemon Go: Air Adventures Event - Pokemon Debuts
This event will mark the debut of two Mega Evolutions in Pokemon Go: Mega Latias and Mega Latios. These two Pokemon can be seen in Mega Raids during the event window; requiring their defeat before being given a chance to capture them.
These two Pokemon will possess event-exclusive Charged Attacks if they are caught during the event window. Latias will know the Charged Attack Mist Ball and Latios will know the Charged Attack Luster Purge if caught at this time. Stats regarding these two Psychic Charged Attacks are provided below.

Attempt to group up with other Trainers to defeat these powerful Legendary Pokemon during the event window, as it will too challenging of a task to handle individually. The prospect of catching Latias and Latios during this event is well sought-after by players of Pokemon Go, as these two Pokemon are speculated to be more powerful than any other Pokemon currently in the game.
Pokemon Go: Air Adventures Event - Event Pokemon
During the event window, there will be several Pokemon that are seen in Wild Encounters. This serves as an effective way to obtain large amounts of Candy for these specific Pokemon; as well as a chance to maybe even encounter a Shiny variation. The following Pokemon will be spawning more frequently during the Pokemon Air Adventures Event.

Additionally, there will be specific Pokemon appearing in raids during this event window. As these Raids will contain different powerful Boss Pokemon, it is recommended to challenge these raids with other Trainers if possible, often proving to be a nearly impossible task when attempting to complete these Raids solo. Pokemon Go: Air Adventures Event - Eggs
During the Pokemon Air Adventures Event, there will be several event Pokemon that will hatch from eggs. The following Pokemon will hatch from 7 km Eggs during the event window.
- Togepi
- Mantyke
- Emolga
- Noibat
Make sure that you are logged in and walking around during this time, ensuring that you travel the required distance in order to hatch your eggs before the event concludes.
Eggs will have 1/2 Egg Hatch Distance when placed in Incubators during the event window.
Pokemon Go: Air Adventures Event - Research Tasks
During the event window, there will be Timed Research available to all Trainers. The tasks for this research will focus on tasks involving catching Pikachu and other Flying-type Pokemon presented throughout the Pokemon Air Adventures event; rewarding you with different valuable in-game rewards.
The following event rewards will be earned upon completion of this Timed Research.
- 50 Latias Mega Energy
- 50 Latios Mega Energy
- 3,000 XP
- An encounter with Flying Pikachu
Additionally, there will be specific Pokemon that will be encountered upon completing Field Research tasks during this event. Make sure that you are adventuring and visiting PokeStops when possible during this event, allowing you to obtain many of these Field Research Tasks.

Pokemon Go: Air Adventures Event - Stickers
Like past events, there will be event-themed stickers available during this event. These stickers will contain Pokemon related to this event and can be obtained through a number of ways; either through purchase from the in-game shop, or by spinning PokeStops and opening Gifts (if you are a ticket holder of the Pokemon Air Adventures live event).
These event-themed stickers will only be available from May 7 to May 8.
