Dates: Saturday, March 16, 2024

  • Time: 2pm to 5pm local time

This Pokemon Go Community Day event will be featuring Litten, in addition to several other bonuses. The most notable of these bonuses will be the massively increased chances of encountering a Shiny Litten during the three hours of this event, making its Pokemon Go debut with this event.

This Pokemon has two further evolutions: Torracat and Incineroar. To evolve Litten into Torracat, it will require the use of 25 Litten Candy, then another 100 Litten Candy to evolve Torracat into Incineroar, its final evolution. Litten Candy can be obtained by either catching, transferring, or hatching Litten, Torracat, or Incineroar.

Read on for all the info you need about Litten Community Day!

With the Litten Candy required to perform these evolutions, make sure to take advantage of the increased spawn rate of this Community Day Pokemon.

This will ensure you have enough Litten Candy to perform multiple of these evolutions.

For this Pokemon Go Community Day event, Litten will not possess the Featured Attack when caught; instead, you will have to do more to acquire this unique move. You will have to evolve a Torracat into an Incineroar, its final evolution, during the event or up to five hours afterward.

Doing so will provide you with an Incineroar that knows the Fire-type Charged Attack Blast Burn. Pokemon Go in-game stats for this attack are provided below.

Blast Burn Stats

PvE (Gym and Raids)

110 Power

PvP (Trainer Battles)

110 Power

Additionally, with the start of this Community Day, and even after it has concluded, Incineroar will also be able to be taught the Dark-type Charged Attack Darkest Lariat. The stats for this attack are also provided for you below.

Darkest Lariat Stats

PvE (Gym and Raids)

80 Power

PvP (Trainer Battles)

120 Power

Bonuses

Community Days always feature special bonuses, and this month's will be no different. From 2pm to 5pm local time on the day of this event, these bonuses will be in effect:

  • 3x XP for catching Pokemon.
  • 2x Candy for catching Pokemon.
  • 2x chance of obtaining Candy XL when catching Pokemon.
  • Activated Incense during the event will last for three hours.
  • Lure Modules will also last for three hours.
  • One addition Special Trade can be made.
  • Trades will require 50 percent less Stardust.
  • Taking Snapshots during this event will provide you with a Community Day surprise.

The two event bonuses having to do with trading Pokemon will be available for up to five hours after the Community Day event.

This means that you can take advantage of them from 2pm to 10pm local time on this day.

Quests

Here's what we know about the research quests that will be available:

Field Research

There will be special Field Research Tasks available for visiting PokeStops during this Community Day Event. Completing these by catching different Litten will reward you with encounters with Litten, Stardust, or Great Balls.

Special Research

In the days leading up to this Community Day Event, you can purchase a ticket from the in-game shop that grants you access to a Special Research Story quest line, Litten Community Day - Exclusive Special Research Story.

It will cost $1 or the equivalent in your local currency. Typically, for CD Special Research stories, you can catch the evolved stages of the featured Pokemon, and the ones who are able to will know the featured special move.

You do not need to complete this Special Research before the end of the Community Day event — it's permanently available.

It is, of course, only available to those who purchase a ticket.

Bonus Raid Battles

Following the main Community Day Event, there will be Bonus Raid Battles taking place from 5pm to 10pm local time. During this window, Torracat will be appearing in Four-Star Raids across the globe; only joinable locally, disabling the use of Remote Raid Passes to join these specific Raids.

Following the successful completion of one of these Raids, Litten will begin appearing in a 300-meter radius around the Gym that the Raid took place in, lasting for 30 minutes. Litten that appear from this bonus will have the same increased Shiny rate as those encountered during the main Community Day Event.

Pokemon Showcases

There will be Community Day-themed Pokemon Showcases appearing at different PokeStops during this event. Make sure to place Pokemon, most likely Litten or its evolutions, in these Showcases for a chance to earn different in-game items.

How To Prepare For Community Day

Community Day Preparations pokemon go

There is no shortage of free stuff given out on Community Day events, from the supplies granted by easy Field Research tasks, the rewards for research quest lines, the Shop Boxes, and more.

However, it's usually still a good idea to prep in advance for the upcoming Community Day Classic, especially if the featured Pokemon (or its evolutions) is competitively viable, or it's something you really want.

  • Of course, stock up on Poke Balls and Berries.
    • Other things that can come in handy but aren't as vital are Incense, Lure Modules, Star Pieces, and Lucky Eggs (especially when the event bonus is extra Stardust and XP).
  • If you're going out for Community Day and doing a bit of walking, you'll definitely want to save your Incubators or buy some more to get some Eggs hatched.

Additionally, you'll want to make sure you have some Pokemon box storage available. If your storage is full or close to it, it'll be rather tedious to be transferring Pokemon throughout the day, so it's best to prepare in advance by making some room.

If your current Buddy is a Pokemon that you need Candies for, it can be wise to give them a Poffin to make them excited and reduce the walking distance needed for each Candy by half.

As for preparations in the real world, you'll want to make sure you have anything you need for either a day out of the house or setting some time aside to play from home.

  • If you're going out, make sure you dress for the weather and wear shoes and clothing that are comfortable to walk in for some time.
    • If you require any type of mobility assistance, be sure it's accessible or available.
  • Bring water whenever possible.
  • If it's sunny where you are, make sure to bring sunscreen and other sun protection.
  • Charge any portable batteries you might need (and your phone or device) in advance.

You may want to plot a route in advance, especially if you want to maximize how many Pokemon you can catch (and whatever else you'd like to get done). If you know where good spawn areas are or the location of gyms that you like to raid, be sure to plan in advance where you want to go.

Check online for a local Discord server, WhatsApp group, Facebook group, or any other type of social group for your community if you want to meet new people or join a raid group.
