It's time to celebrate another year of Pokémon GO. Sure other games released this year. Death Stranding finally came and made players ponder the emotional importance of human connection and product placement. Pokémon Sword and Shield gave fans their first true taste of console-based Pokémon (to mixed effect). Even Rick and Morty infiltrated the gaming world via Dungeons & Dragons. But Pokémon GO withstood it all to remain a powerhouse of mobile gaming. Now developer Niantic is thanking fans for another great year with a menagerie of special Pokémon spawns.

On the weekend of December 14 and 15, all of 2019's Community Day Pokémon will spawn at increased rates. 2018's Community Day crew will join the fun as well. They'll be available in raids and as part of egg hatches. Niantic's official announcement makes no mention of increased shiny rates for these Pokémon, so fans can only hope.

The main event of the weekend is that, from 9AM-9PM local time both days, all of the 2019 Community Day Pokémon will spawn more frequently. Those are: Totodile, Swinub, Treecko, Torchic, Mudkip, Ralts, Slakoth, Trapinch, Bagon, Turtwig, and Chimchar.

Raids that weekend will also run from 9AM-9PM both days. The 2018 Community Day Pokémon will be found here. They are: Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle, Pikachu, Eevee, Dratini, Chikorita, Cyndaquil, Mareep, Larvitar, and Beldum.

Each day will also have its own specific events. From 11AM-2PM on December 14, trainers will see greatly increased spawns of Totodile, Swinub, Treecko, Torchic, Slakoth, and Bagon. They'll also get 2× Catch Stardust, 2× Catch XP, and 1/2 Egg Hatch Distance for those hours.

December 15 from 11AM-2PM will have greatly increased spawns of Mudkip, Ralts, Trapinch, Turtwig, and Chimchar. All of the double bonuses will return for those hours.

Finally, eggs obtained over the weekend will hatch Community Day Pokémon. December 14 eggs will have Bulbasaur, Charmander, Pikachu, Dratini, Totodile, Mareep, Swinub, Larvitar, Treecko, Torchic, Slakoth, and Bagon. December 15 eggs will have Squirtle, Eevee, Chikorita, Cyndaquil, Mudkip, Ralts, Trapinch, Beldum, Turtwig, and Chimchar. All of these Pokémon, when evolved over the weekend, will learn their special Community Day moves.

Community Day has been a staple of Pokémon GO for about two years now. December 2018 saw a whole weekend of Community Day where all of that year's spotlight Pokémon returned. Fans were looking forward to a similar event this year. Even the most dedicated players have trouble making every single Community Day. The December Community Day weekend is a great chance to catch up on the shinies and special moves one might have missed during the year. Hopefully trainers aren't too busy with holiday plans on the 14th and 15th.
