Pokemon Go is kicking off its brand-new season, Season Nine: Mythical Wishes, with plenty of exciting features and changes, including several first-time in-game events. The first of these events is one that you won't want to miss, Heading to Hoenn Mega Raid Day, debuting Mega Sceptile, Mega Blaziken, and Mega Swampert for the first time in Pokemon Go.
This will only be a one-day event, taking place on Saturday, December 3, from 2 pm to 5 pm local time, an extremely short event window. With that in mind, you'll definitely want to make the most of this three-hour event, and we've put together everything you need to know to do exactly that.
Pokemon Debuts
As mentioned previously, the main draw of this event will be the debut of three fan-favorite Mega Evolutions: Mega Sceptile, Mega Blaziken, and Mega Swampert. These three Pokemon will be available in Mega Raids throughout the duration of this event, giving you the opportunity to earn Mega Energy, a valuable resource used to Mega Evolve your Pokemon.
It's unknown when these Mega Evolutions will appear in Raids again, so put your time to good use during the event. Successfully complete these three Mega Raids while they are available to earn Mega Energy for each of these three Hoenn starters.
Event Bonuses
A few bonuses will be available to all players participating in this event, all having to do with the three new Mega Raids. The first set of bonuses comes in the form of Featured Moves, attacks that Sceptile, Blaziken, and Swampert will know if they are caught during this event. Each Featured Move that these Pokemon will have can be found below.

Additionally, during this event, you will have a higher chance of encountering Sceptile, Blaziken, and Swampert's Shiny variations. Take on and defeat the Mega Evolutions of these Pokemon in Raids to earn yourself encounters with these three Pokemon, providing you with a high chance of acquiring their Shiny variants.
Lastly, during this event, you will be able to earn an increased amount of free Raid Passes. Visit and spin Photo Discs at different Pokemon Gyms to obtain up to five of these Raid Passes, free of charge.
Event Ticket
There will be an Event Exclusive Ticket available for purchase for this event, granting you additional bonuses on the day of this Mega Raid Day. This ticket will cost $5 USD at the in-game shop and will provide you with the following bonuses.
- Six Raid Passes earned by spinning Photo Discs at Gyms (12 total Raid Passes for this day)
- Higher chance of obtaining Rare Candy XL
- Increases XP earned through Raid Battles by 50 percent
- Doubles the Stardust earned from Raid Battles
If you purchase the Event Exclusive Ticket, all bonuses will be active from 2 pm to 10 pm local time on December 3.
