Pokemon Go is having another chunky collection event, this time focusing on Pokemon from the Sinnoh region. Just like the last event, this can be tough to clear if you’re not aware of where to find the Pokemon you need. You have less than a week to complete this urgent challenge, so you’ll have to put in a fair amount of effort to get all of these Pokemon caught on time.

That’s exactly why we’re here to put together a guide which will help you catch all of the Pokemon with relative ease - just scroll down below to discover everything you need to know about catching Pokemon for the Sinnoh Collection Challenge in Pokemon Go.

Which Pokemon To Catch In The Sinnoh Collection Challenge In Pokemon Go

While some of the following Pokemon will be incredibly simple to catch - honestly just log in while sitting at home and take a look around - others will be distinctly awkward, perhaps even requiring you to start (gasp) walking around outside to PokeStops. Hard to hear, I know, but sometimes that’s the way things must be done. Here is the full list of Pokemon you need…

  • Turtwig
  • Chimchar
  • Piplup
  • Buizel
  • Combee
  • Shadow Stunky
  • Shadow Snover
  • Cranidos
  • Shieldon

Some of these Pokemon should be relatively simple to catch, either wandering around in the wild or hatching from common eggs, but others will be a bit of a struggle, in all honesty. If you catch ‘em all you’ll be rewarded with 3k Stardust, a Magnetic Lure Module, and x15 Ultra Balls. Could’ve offered us something a bit more alluring, Niantic…

FYI, Buizel will also be available as a Shiny for the first time ever, so make sure to check all Buizel you come across to see if you’re walking past a shiny variant.

How To Easily Catch The Pokemon You Need In The Sinnoh Collection Challenge In Pokemon Go

Some of these Pokemon are going to cause problems when you attempt to catch them, but let’s try and break this down as easily as possible.

First, Turtwing, Chimchar, and Piplup, the Sinnoh starters, will all be available in the wild and will hatch from 2km eggs, so they shouldn’t be too challenging to catch if you’re using lures and incense.

Catching Buizel and Combee is a pretty similar situation, though they’re a bit rarer. Especially that Shiny Buizel, which I’m sure you’re pining after. Again, lures and incense are the key to making this easier, but if all else fails you should grind 5km eggs.

Shadow Stunky and Shadow Snover are possibly the most difficult Pokemon to catch here, despite being fairly common otherwise. You probably already know that Shadow Pokemon can only be taken from Rocket Grunts that challenge you at PokeStops. As a result, if you want these Pokemon you will need to walk to different PokeStops looking for grunts, and then you will need to battle them and hope they have the Pokemon you want when all is done. A tiring game of rinse and repeat until you succeed.

Cranidos and Shieldon are the final Pokemon you need, and they can be the most awkward of the bunch. These won’t show up in the wild very often, and while 5km eggs may help, it’s not a guarantee. You can get these Pokemon as a reward for completing certain field research tasks during the event though, so if you ensure you complete as many of those as possible, you should eventually be able to catch ‘em all.
