Pokemon GO is chalked full of events nowadays. The most recent to go live is the Stardust Blast event. This event will grant loads of bonus stardust for catching, hatching, and battling. Stardust is a crucial material within the game, essential for powering up your Pokemon. Trainers that triumphed in capturing Shadow Ball Mewtwo, or just have a ton of training ahead of them, won't want to miss out on this event.

Stardust Blast commenced on Thursday, October 3rd and will run through October 10th until 1 pm (PDT). Players will receive double stardust from hatching and catching Pokemon and participating in Team GO Rocket battles during the event. Niantic has put on stardust events in the past, but the addition of the Team Rocket crew has shaken things up and provided the chance for even more bonus rewards. Raids will also guarantee 2,000 stardust throughout the event. Stardust is required for powering up, evolving, and trading Pokemon, so it suffices to say that it is a highly sought out material within the game.

Catch Bonuses

Via gamepur.com

Catch bonuses will vary a bit depending on the Pokemon's evolution phase, weather bonuses, and if a star piece has been applied. (Star pieces will earn you even more stardust, so don't forget to use them throughout the entirety of the event!) Below is a list of the various stardust values, not including the event's double stardust bonus.

No Weather Boost (Base stardust reward)

Base Evolution - 100 stardust

2nd Evolution - 300 stardust

3rd Evolution - 500 stardust

Weather Boost (+25, +75, +125)

Base Evolution - 125 stardust

2nd Evolution - 375 stardust

3rd Evolution - 625 stardust

No Weather Boost, using a Star Piece (+50, +150, +250)

Base Evolution - 150 stardust

2nd Evolution - 450 stardust

3rd Evolution - 750 stardust

Weather Boost, using a Star Piece (+87, +262, +437)

Base Evolution - 187 stardust

2nd Evolution - 562 stardust

3rd Evolution - 937 stardust

Multiply any of those values by two to discover the total amount of stardust awarded for that type of catch during the Stardust Blast event.

Egg Hatch Bonuses

Via eurogamer.net

Stardust awarded for hatching is directly correlated to the walking distance of the egg and can be further affected by Star Pieces. Again, the values below are the totals before applying the double stardust bonus for the event.

Not Using a Star Piece (Base stardust reward)

2 km Eggs - 400-800 stardust

5 km/7 km Eggs - 800-1600 stardust

10 km Eggs - 1600-3200 stardust

Using a Star Piece

2 km Eggs - 600-1200 stardust

5 km/7 km Eggs - 1200-2400 stardust

10 km Eggs - 2400-4800 stardust

Star pieces are especially beneficial on Eggs, so be sure to always have one applied during hatching sprees throughout this event. Otherwise, you'll be missing out on a ton of stardust.

The event is already in full swing, so don't waste any more time! Get those incubators fired up, pop on a star piece, and get out there before the double stardust and Team Rocket blast off again!
