They say April showers bring May flowers, but March is actually going to bring both rain and wind, if you're playing Pokemon Go that is.

Pokemon Go's inaugural Weather Week event kicks off on March 24 and brings with it Pokemon that you normally wouldn't find in the wild unless it's rainy or windy. This will be a huge boon for those living in arid locales but really just another day if you live in Chicago.

I kid--there are still plenty of reasons to take part in Weather Week even if you live in a rainy, windy place.

Starting March 24 at 10 AM local time, Weather Week kicks off by bringing with it increased instances of rain or wind-loving Pokemon such as Wingull or Ducklett, along with Castform appearing more frequently in the wild. There's also an increased chance for Shiny Rainy Castform to appear.

The first half of Weather Week will be dedicated to rain-loving Pokemon. From Wednesday, March 24 at 10 AM to Saturday, March 27 at 10 AM local time, expect to see more Pokemon like Vaporeon, Lotad, Stunfisk, and others appearing in the wild. From Saturday at 10 AM to the end of the event on Monday, March 29 at 8 PM, expect to find Skarmory, Taillow, Pidove, and other wind-loving Pokemon.

And in 5km eggs, expect to find a mix of Flying and Water-type Pokemon such as Psyduck, Poliwag, Swablu, Drifloon, Mantyke, Tympole, and Ducklett.

Raids are getting a mix-up for Weather Week as well. One-star raids will have Slowpoke, Tynamo, "and more," while three-star raids will have Swellow, Pelipper, and others. Five-star raids will be your last chance to capture Therian Forme Thundurus before it's replaced by Therian Forme Tornadus.

Mega Raids will feature either Mega Houndoom, Mega Manectric, or Mega Abomasnow.

Event-exclusive Field and Timed Research will provide encounters with Rainy Form Castform as well as other Pokemon, so don't forget to do those, and if it actually is raining or windy, expect to get some extra Stardust from catching Pokemon.

Pokemon Go Weather Week runs from March 24, 2021, at 10:00 AM to Monday, March 29, 2021, at 8:00 PM local time.
