A new Pokemon movie is about to hit Netflix. Pokemon the Movie: Secrets of the Jungle tells the story of Zarude, the Legendary Rogue Monkey, as well as its adoptive human child, Koko. Ash and Pikachu stumble across the unlikely pair in their journey to be the best there ever was, only to get caught up in a battle to save the jungle.

And to usher in Zarude's cinematic debut, Pokemon Go is holding a time-limited Special Research event to capture your very own Zarude.

The Special Research task will be available from October 1 at 10 AM local time to October 10, 8 PM local time. After you obtain the Special Research it can be completed at any time. We don't have the exact details, but the Research will involve helping Professor Willow learn more about Zarude and will end with a unique encounter with the Legendary Monkey 'mon.

Additionally, Pokemon related to the movie will appear more frequently in the wild during that October 1 to October 10 period. That means you'll see more Hoothoot, Combee, Drilbur, Cottonee, Dwebble, and rarely, Larvitar in your travels, as well as the new Explorer Pikachu. Larvitars and Explorer Pikachu also have a chance to be shiny, so be on the lookout.

More movie-related Pokemon will also appear in raids. One-star raids will include Explorer Pikachu, Larvitar, Roggenrola, Foongus, and Rufflet (with Rufflet having a chance to be shiny), while three-star raids will include Lickitung, Chansey, Pinsir, Ludicolo, and Flygon.

Jesse and James will return with their Meowth balloon until October 15 at 10 AM, so keep an eye out for those tricksters. And be sure to grab the free avatar items, including gthe Adventure Hat and the Wailmer Water Bottle.

Pokemon Go isn't the only Pokemon game with a movie tie-in. You can grab some limited-edition Pokemon in Sword & Shield so long as you sign up for the Trainer Club newsletter before September 25.

Pokémon the Movie: Secrets of the Jungle arrives on Netflix on Friday, October 8.
