Pokemon fans around the world have been waiting for an open-world game for years, drawing you into an experience as close to the show as possible. In Legends: Arceus, there's less of a set path, along with more side content than ever before, giving you more choice over how your journey will play out.

There are over 90 possible side quests spread throughout the map and no obligation to complete any of them. Part of the fun in having an open-world is discovering some strange side characters along the way, immersing you in the world, and receiving some juicy rewards when you're done. However, such a wide array of quests leaves some filtering to be done. That's why this list will show you some of the most fun and productive side quests in Pokemon Legends: Arceus.

7 Aim For The Big Leagues!

Throwing pokeballs at balloons

Before getting the chance to start this quest you'll have to talk to Azeru outside the Galaxy Team Headquarters, completing his predicament as one of the main missions. You'll find a man named Taggart standing across the bridge in Jubilife Village who will offer you a challenge, score more than 10,000 points in the target practice field, and he'll reward you.

Aiming Pokeballs at balloons is the name of the game, and yellow balloons give more points. Once you manage to score higher than 10,000, you'll get a range of prizes depending on how well you score. There are 15 Great Balls and a nugget up for grabs. Great Balls are the base for any experienced trainer's arsenal, making up the bulk of what you'll be using in battle — so playing a great mini-game for 15 of these is always going to be worth it.

6 Double The Tails, Double The Fun

A Finneon Trade In Pokemon Legends: Arceus

The only prerequisite for this quest is having a Pokemon that can swim, which will be taking you into a prime hunting ground for your prize. You can only start swimming at the latter half of the game, unlocking the ability to ride a Basculegion. This will begin your aquatic adventures. After that, talk to Netta of the security corps, she'll tell you about a Pokemon with two tail fins that she wants to see again.

This Pokemon is no other than Finneon, and they are easy enough to catch once you get to the Coastlands and drift around a while — you don't even have to fight them before throwing out a Pokeball! Once you have a Finneon, take it back to Netta, and she'll reward you with a Star Piece. Star Pieces can be sold for very high prices. Furthermore, completing the quest lets you skip the tedious crafting process and get straight to the money.

5 Measuring Your Capability

Luring A Bidoof In Pokemon Legends: Arceus

Unless you've dived deep into the mechanics of Pokemon, you probably haven't focused too much on friendship levels, the key element of this quest. On this opportunity, you'll have to talk to Belamy, a man in glasses and a suit standing by the pastures in Jubilife Village. To prove his theory that you're like his grandma correct, he wants you to show him a Pokemon with a high level of friendship.

To level up your friendship with your Pokemon, release them to run around with you and use them in battles. However, beware of getting any of them knocked down because that will hurt your progression. Once you show Belamy a Pokemon that likes you, he'll give you a rare candy that you can use to level up, and you will also unlock the Friendship Checker. The Friendship Checker will tell you where you stand with each of your Pokemon in terms of friendship, which is a great tool when picking what teammate to focus on.

4 A Bit Of Help From Blissey

Capturing the Alpha Blissey In Pokemon Legends: Arceus

Supply Corps has its fair share of drama inside and out of the main storyline, with multiple characters in need of help. This time, you'll be helping Pippa in Galaxy HQ, taking on an Abomasnow that has separated her and the Blissey she has such a deep connection with. This quest will only be available once you've caught a Blissey through the mainline.

In order to fight the Abomasnow, the best chance at victory is bringing a heavy offense Fire-Type that burns right through both its Grass and Ice-Type combination. This will make quick work of the enemy. In return, you'll receive a Shiny Stone, one of the most expensive stones to buy and a pain to get ahold of otherwise. You'll also get your hand on two Max Revives, making sure you're never caught in a tough situation without backup.

3 Keep An Eye Out For Aipom!

Aipom Caught In The Wild In Pokemon Legends: Arceus

Deep in the Cobalt Coastlands, you'll find a flustered man, Hiko, who's had his bag stolen by a pair of troublesome Aipom — it's up to you to get it back. This quest isn't too hard if you're past level 30: You will need to chase down the pair after a few checkpoints and enter into a two-on-one battle.

Aipom aren't too tough: a good few Pokemon can be taken down by their offensive attack style. A Fighting-Type Pokemon would take both culprits down with ease, retrieving the stolen goods and speeding up the reward. Hiko will give you five scatter bangs, an item that will get rid of weak Pokemon in the wild, leaving you to catch and battle only the best. Hiko will also give an Exp. Candy M. to the brave Pokemon that takes on the two thieves.

2 The Diamond Clan's Treasure

Entering post-game territory here: You have to beat the entire main story and wait for the credits to roll before this quest pops up on your radar. Adaman will wait for you in the Crimson Mirelands by the lake, offering you a chance to face him in battle. While it won't be an easy task, taking down his team of Eeveelutions is worth the effort.

To face Umbreon, Vaporeon, and Leafeon in a single battle, you'll need to get a well-rounded team by the end of the game. Defeating the clan's leader will reward you with three Comet Shards for some serious cash, followed by the Adamant Crystal to transform Dialga into its origin form.

1 The Sea's Legend

Completing Side Quests With Arceus In Pokemon Legends: Arceus

First, you'll have to go to Galaxy HQ and look on the board: Professor Laventon will immediately start the briefing for this mission. This will probably be the most demanding quest in the game, requiring you to have a Mantyke, Buizel, and an Overqwil before moving on. You can find each of the required Pokemon in the Cobalt Coastlands, the Obsidian Fieldlands, and evolving a Quilfish, respectively.

Once you have gathered each Pokemon, you need to travel to the Cobalt Coastlands and wait until evening. Then, start swimming through the horned rocks that jut out of the sea. With all three Pokemon in your party, a new cave called Seastone Hollow will unlock. This cave contains a Manaphy with three Phione. You only get one shot to catch the Manaphy, while the others will respawn if you accidentally go overboard. There are three Comet Shards for you as well when you return to Professor Laventon after completing the quest.
