Lady Dimitrescu was a 2020 gaming highlight, the Resident Evil dommy mommy that made the internet go berserk, but who will take that mantle in 2022? It looks like Pokemon is already throwing its hat in the ring.

"With these big Pokemon in Arceus, we're about to enter the 'plz step on me' era," Twitch partner GamesCage tweeted alongisde one of the giant Gardevoir. You might think Pokemon are hapless animals that fight it out for the entertainment of trainers across the fictional globe, but there's a handful of the fandom that simp for these critters. Gardevoir is a hotly sought after 'mon for just that and Arceus is leaning into it even more by making them giant.

In GamesCage's tweet, you can see Gardevoir standing nearly double the size of the trainer with an enormous head to complete the package. But GamesCage clarifies that they don't have a thing for the 'mon: "I'm scared. Not excited. Don't get this confused," GamesCage added. "Memes aside, this is gonna be funny as fuck. I wanna find a giant Mudkip."

In the replies, you can see just how big the 'mons get in Arceus - Bidoof is enormous, bordering on the size of a cow if you were to put it into perspective with the real world. They aren't a little rodent like they might've seemed in Diamond and Pearl - Bidoof is big. And it looks like we can expect that kind of size from most of the 'mons in Arceus.

But Dimitrescu was an accidental hit. Capcom didn't plan for her to become an internet phenomenon but an internet phenomenon she became. It seems like the one thing everyone could band together over in 2021 was a shared love for a tall, strong female character, one that turned into a dragon and tried to eat us admittedly, but a strong female character nonetheless.

However, these pictures come from Arceus' leaks as the game has pooled into the public a little early. It's so bad that it's being streamed in full on Twitch while some copies are being sold on eBay. There isn't long left before launch, though, as you can play Arceus in only four days. Get ready for tall, intimidating, and comically large 'mons.
