While leaks are rampant and streamers are already playing the game to their audiences, Pokemon Legends Arceus is officially out in one week. You can now preload it in advance, so you can get stuck in on release day.

The download is around 13 GB which is larger than a lot of other Nintendo games but just about the same size as The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild's 13.4 GB. The base Nintendo Switch has around 64 GB of storage, so you should be fine.

If you want a taste of Arceus before it launches next week, then you can watch a 360° tour of the game in a new two-minute clip shared by Nintendo on Twitter. It's not exactly a demo, but it gives us a better glimpse at Arceus' world, an expansion on the Sinnoh region of Diamond and Pearl.

But it's not open-world, not like Breath of the Wild despite the many comparisons. There are a series of open-world areas and a general hub, akin to Monster Hunter. And it's a spin-off to the main games, so there are a lot of key differences such as combat being more integrated rather than smash-cutting to menus - you can move around while you're shouting at your Starly to bite a Bidoof.

The starters are also different despite the region being the same one from Diamond and Pearl - Chimchar, Piplup, and Turtwig have been swapped for Rowlett, Cyndaquill, and Oshawott, all returning 'mons. You've got a week to decide which one you want on your team, so get thinking.

And maybe mute the word Arceus so you can avoid spoilers, eh? They are rampant and the game is even being sold online on sites like eBay as it's already made its way into the wild. Nintendo is no doubt trying to catch 'em all and put out the wildfire that's currently spreading across the internet, but with Arceus out in a week, it shouldn't be too hard to avoid any major plot points.
