The latest challenge being posed to trainers is Pokémon Masters. Except the new mobile game's greatest opponent is not a Pokémon trainer. It's the gacha system. For those unfamiliar with the term, gacha is a type of reward system that's popular in Japanese games. Essentially it's like loot boxes, with the characters themselves being the random prizes. Every "roll" on the gacha gets you a new character, and you hope to get one of the rare five-stars only to have your hopes dashed when another three-star comes out. In a game of chance, disappointment is inevitable.

Pokémon Masters' version of gacha is called the Sync Pair Scout. The game actually gives you a roll on the Scout close to the beginning of the game, setting the tone for how your journey will go. Or you can just use the free story characters, who are plenty powerful. But there are those who want an optimal start. Those people might want to "reroll" the initial Scout by starting the game over. Here's how to do it.

In this case, "rerolling" refers to getting a second chance on the Scout. Sort of like reseting the game without saving to try again. The difference is that mobile games save automatically by being constantly connected to the internet. So in order to reroll the Scout, you essentially have to wipe all of your save data and start from the beginning.

According to a source on Quora, there are two ways to reroll the Scout. First, you could uninstall the game and download it again. You'll be able to begin anew and roll that first Scout again. This method is tedious as you have to wait for the game to be downloaded again every time.

The second method is more efficient. You go to the "Account" part of the game's menus. In there you'll see a button to "Delete Save Data." Hit that, and you'll be able to start the game from the beginning and redo your first roll.

As you might have picked up, this only applies to your first ever Scout, the one given to you at the beginning of the game. Since both methods involve scrapping all of your progress and starting from scratch, it won't help if you get unlucky on a later Scout. Deleting and restarting anywhere past the beginning will just rob you of your progress. Eventually, you'll just have to learn to take what the gacha gives you.
