One of the most amazing aspects of Scarlet & Violet was the inclusion of Paradox Pokemon, which allowed fans to explore both past and future forms of certain Pokemon evolutionary timelines. There seems to be a bright future ahead for the Pokemon world, full of shiny chrome-plated friends with fancy floating hands.

While these animatronic Pokemon may suggest a dark future for their biological counterparts, they feature some of the most interesting designs we’ve seen yet. These future Pokemon have adapted themselves for maximum efficiency — but a few others would be excellent contenders for a robo-revamp.

10 Fortress

Fortress going Warp speed

Fortress may be forgotten by most, but it’s a prime candidate for a future form. This Steel and Bug type is essentially a wrecking ball with cannons, and has a futuristic tone even in its current form. Its present-day design could easily be modified into a floating armed drone fit for a sci-fi world.

Its current Bug typing just doesn’t fit its current design. Replacing it with Poison would give it the same typing as Revavroom, and has a lot of potential with the ability Levitate. Pressing fast-forward on Fortress would yield fantastic results and potentially add offensive viability to this bulky Pokemon.

9 Vikavolt

Vikavolt going Warp speed in Pokemon Sun & Moon.

Few Generation 7 Pokemon have made a bigger impact than Vikavolt. This Electric and Bug type’s unique design had everyone playing Sun and Moon adding it to their team. It looks like a cutting-edge Pokemon even in its present form, making it an even more interesting candidate for a future one.

Something as simple as a chrome-plated version of its current design would be enough to make fans happy, but it certainly has the potential for something more show stopping. Turning the horns on its face into laser lances could make this lightning bug one of the coolest designs we have ever seen.

8 Ferrothorn

Ferrathorn going Warp speed

Unless you’re a competitive player, it’s easy to look past Ferrothorn. Its design is odd, and it’s difficult to understand where the inspiration for it came from. However, we do know the spikes on its feet are perfect for perforating lawns, and with the ability to spin its feet around like a helicopter, there seems to be potential for a future form.

Future Ferrothorn could either lean into the lawn care aspect as some kind of futuristic mower or potentially a Flying-type helicopter. Either form would be entertaining and help reintroduce this old friend to new fans. When it comes to the potential a flying gyrocopter Ferrothorn could bring, the sky is the limit.

7 Haxorus

Haxerous going Warp speed

As far as Pokemon designs go, Haxorus really cuts through the competition. It's one of those Pokemon who would make a great Elden Ring boss, but what could a future version look like? The answer is simple: Laser Face Blades.

While its present-day form is one of the most well-designed Pokemon, a pure Steel-type future form with high-intensity lasers replacing the axes in its mouth seems like an ideal fit for this pseudo-legendary. It's a design that could be incredibly intimidating for any challenging opponent, and it’s certainly one we’d like to see.

6 Metagross

Metagross going Warp speed

Another pseudo-legendary prime for a cybernetic configuration is Metagross. This metallic mammoth resembles a spaceship in its current form, and it’s frequently seen using jets on its feet to fly.

All these features make Metagross a prime candidate for a future form. The new design could fully embrace the “walking UFO” aspects of its current-day form with a smoother, more streamlined body shape. It seems like a natural progression for this titanium titan and a guaranteed fan favorite.

5 Turtinator

Turtanator going Warp speed

The real fire dragon in the Pokemon universe, Turtinator, is another excellent choice for a futuristic update. This fiery turtle dragon hasn’t gotten the respect it deserves, and a future form could help showcase its true potential.

Having its nose redesigned into something that looks more like an actual cannon and less like a Deku from the Legend of Zelda would do wonders for its appearance. Additionally, if Metagross can fly with his rocket feet, why can’t Turtinator? It could retract its legs into its shell and transform itself into a flying battleship. That’s a concept fans can get behind!

4 Scizor

Scizor going Warp speed

One Pokemon worthy of becoming a cutting-edge companion is Scizor. This luminous land lobster’s design has withstood the test of time, but what if it was taken a step further? A chrome Scizor that looks more like Predator and less like a Mega Man character could really take this Pokemon to the next level.

Trading its Bug typing for Dark could have potential with its existing move pool, and would make sense with an edgier design. An update like this would make this fan favorite even more beloved.

3 Beedrill

Beedrill going Warp speed

By far, one of the best Bug types of the original 151 has to be Beedrill. This stylish stinger has one of the most memorable designs in the franchise, and seeing how it progresses over time could be rewarding.

One idea is to follow the same concept Corsola did in Generation 8 and turn Beedrill into a Ghost and Steel type. With bees in the real world struggling to survive, Beedrill could represent that ominous future and introduce an incredible redesign for this old friend. It's an idea that may sting a bit for trainers who think about it for too long, but has the potential to be great.

2 Aegislash

Aegislash going Warp speed

Speaking of Ghost and Steel types, why not give Aegislash a future form? As one of the most beloved Pokemon in Generation 6, seeing this sentient sword thrust into the future could be quite rewarding.

By replacing its Steel typing with either Electric or Fire, Aegislash could become a haunted beam sword fit for a Sith Lord. Even if you're not a Star Wars fan, the concept of a floating laser sword is one of the most enticing ideas for a future form. The force is most certainly with Aegislash on this potential redesign.

1 Venusaur

Venusaur going Warp speed

The Kanto starters are some of the most iconic Pokemon in the franchise. While Charizard has gotten most of the love, it’s Venusaur who is the best fit for a future form. A futuristic Venusaur could see the flower on its back replaced with a giant solar panel that harnesses the sun's energy, and fires back at opponents with force.

Fire or Electric in lieu of its secondary Poison typing has the potential to make it even more powerful on a sun team than in its present-day form. An idea like that has the potential to create an incredible new Pokemon — making it by far the most deserving of robo-renovation. For Venusaur, the future is bright.
