We may have just learned some information concerning the new Pokémon games for the Nintendo Switch, which have been the subject of several leaks and rumors over the past few weeks.

The person who leaked the initial information concerning Pokémon Let's Go Pikachu & Pokémon Let's Go Eevee has revealed more information about the game on 4chan. The user named Real Leaks has revealed that the upcoming Pokémon games will only contain the original 151 Pokémon from Red & Blue. 

If this leak is true, then it does offer an explanation as to how Game Freak/The Pokémon Company were able to release a brand new Pokémon title so quickly after the launch of the Nintendo Switch. It's possible that they may be following the same business model as Pokémon Go and adding new Pokémon through later updates.

The leaked information concerning Pokémon Let's Go Pikachu & Pokémon Let's Go Eevee suggest that they will be set in the Kanto region. This offers an explanation as to why the original 151 Pokémon will be seen in the game.

If the leak is true, then it also raises questions about the Baby Pokémon and the new evolutions of the original 151 Pokémon that have been added in later games. Pokémon like Pikachu, Magmar, and Jynx all have pre-evolutions in the form of Baby Pokémon, while Magnemite and Onix received new evolutions over time.

There is also the question of whether Mega Evolution will be present in the game, as several Kanto Pokémon received incredible boosts that made them competitive in tournaments through their Mega Evolution. Will we see the likes of Mega Kangaskhan or Mega Charizard X & Y in the new games?

It's possible that these new Pokémon titles will receive free updates over time that will add in the post-Kanto Pokémon. Nintendo has been having a lot of success of DLC and in-game purchases from their mobile games, so they might be pushing for the Pokémon franchise to start including paid updates. There is certainly a marketplace for paid DLC that would add in new regions, new opponents, or new Pokémon and it's kind of shocking that the main Pokémon games have avoided them for so long.
