If a trainer is looking for that perfect Pokémon, they should let their MBTI® find that ideal companion.

Normal-type Pokémon are by far the most underrated in the game. They are seen as pretty average, however, true fans will be able to see that this isn't the case. Normal-types can still pack a punch and they provide an exciting and unique experience. However, choosing that perfect Pokémon is no easy task.

A person's MBTI® is dictated by a short test that gives a description of someone's personality type. It highlights a person's strengths, weaknesses, loves, hates, and even their relationships with friends and family. All this makes it a wonderful way to make some rather difficult decisions. Like choosing from a list of 115 Normal-types to find the perfect companion.

16 INTJ: Deerling

One of the main traits that come with being an INTJ is being a jack-of-all-trades. They are versatile and extremely open-minded, perfect for a Pokémon like Deerling.

Deerling fits the bill for most of an INTJ's personality traits. With four different forms (one for each season), this Pokémon is just as versatile as its trainer and would make a wonderfully unique and open-minded companion.

15 INTP: Teddiursa

This adorable Pokémon would make a wonderful addition to anyone's party, but it would get on the best with an INTP. It would be pushed to its full potential, especially once it evolves.

Teddiursa is just as enthusiastic and imaginative as its trainer, especially when it creates honey for itself from pollen and fruit. It may second-guess itself a few times but that's nothing an INTP can't handle.

14 ENTJ: Obstagoon

Although Obstagoon is rather intimidating, anyone with the ENTJ personality will be able to see through this and understand this Pokémon for what it is.

Most ENTJs can be seen as rather cold or intolerant of others, which is similar to Obstagoon. However, they're only seen like this because they are so efficient in their craft. Stick with Obstagoon and ENTJs will certainly succeed.

13 ENTP: Porygon

Porygon is a favorite among some fans, they love the lore around it and how versatile it can be, which is just perfect for any ENTP.

This personality just loves thinking quickly. They pride knowledge over most things and can often be seen as insensitive because of their determination. Therefore, having a Pokémon as versatile as Porygon will allow ENTPs to think quickly and use that knowledge to get the most out of their companion.

12 INFJ: Blissey

As the Pokémon of happiness, Blissey is a match made in heaven once placed with an INFJ. Both are so passionate about their goals and are typically the ones to inspire those around them to do the same.

Whilst they're particularly inspiring, they do often struggle to achieve their one goal, so having a companion with similar traits is a perfect match.

11 INFP: Eevee

Eevee has to be one of the most famous Normal-type Pokémon in the franchise. It is adorable, now an official starter, and often rather unpredictable in its evolutions.

Nevertheless, Eevee is hardworking, openminded, and unbelievably selfless, just like an INFP. Since both are selfless, they often forget to care for themselves, which is why an INTP needs Eevee by their side.

10 ENFJ: Indeedee

This Psychic/Normal-type Pokémon is pretty underrated since no one has really heard of Indeedee. However, when paired with an ENFJ, both will thrive and undoubtedly succeed.

Indeedee is renowned for being extremely loyal and reliable, serving its trainer as best as it can. ENFJs are extremely loyal and reliable as well, they pride commitment over most things and will work perfectly with Indeedee.

9 ENFP: Aipom

ENFPs are predominantly curious. They love touching things and examining different objects, ideas, and people which makes them extremely observant too. This is why it's a brilliant idea to put Aipom in the mix.

Aipom is equally as curious but is rather impatient too. In typical monkey fashion, Aipom finds it hard to focus and can often get distracted. However, an ENFP can easily sort that out.

8 ISTJ: Kangaskhan

Known as the parent Pokémon, Kangaskhan is an extremely protective and strong-willed companion that would be perfect for an ISTJ.

One of the main traits of an ISTJ is a need to always do things by the book and enforce order around them, typically being police or servicemen. Consequently, a companion as strong-willed and powerful as Kangaskhan would be just perfect.

7 ISFJ: Meloetta

Meloetta is a beautiful, interesting Pokémon that will provide inspiration, joy, and power to any ISFJ that decides to catch it.

ISFJs are typically perfectionists. They love surrounding themselves with people who feel the same since they hate laziness. Meloetta is undeniably meticulous about its music, presentation, and how it acts, making it the ideal companion.

6 ESTJ: Arceus

This Mythical Pokémon is a wonderful addition to an ESTJ's party. They both share similar personality traits which will cause this pairing to go smoothly and allow the trainer to dominate the battlefield.

Having created the Sinnoh region, Arceus spends its time protecting those living in it showing two traits that it shares with the ESTJ personality, dedication, and perseverance. This will allow the two to become a force to be reckoned with.

5 ESFJ: Lillipup

Lillipup is by far one of the cutest Normal-types in the franchise, and it also evolves into a pretty decent Pokémon. However, that isn't why this partnership is ideal. Lillipup doesn't take criticism too well, remembering every good or bad thing that has happened to it.

Whilst this is sad, if partnered with an ESFJ, the trainer will not only never wrong Lillipup, but they should also understand how hard it is to deal with criticism.

4 ISTP: Bouffalant

One of the main traits that ISTPs are famous for is being stubborn. Now nothing says stubborn more than Bouffalant, who is known for refusing to do what they are told yet charging unexpectedly at anyone who enters their territory.

Most trainers wouldn't be able to deal with that, as they wouldn't understand what's happening. However, ISTPs have dealt with this before since stubbornness is part of their personalities as well.

3 ISFP: Ditto

Ditto can either be the best Pokémon in a party or the most frustrating, there is no in-between. However, when the personality traits of an ISFP are independent, spontaneous, and unpredictable, it's hard not to pair these two together.

No other trainer will be happy to handle a Ditto in their party and no one else will thrive as much on the unpredictability of letting this Pokémon loose in a battle.

2 ESTP: Meowth

Meowth is another famous Normal-type who perfectly fits the bill for an ESTP personality. Meowth is sociable, impatient, and defiant, which makes it both an exciting Pokémon to be around and a perfect match for ESTPs.

ESTPs are quick on their feet and should be able to make great use of Meowth.

1 ESFP: Snorlax

This rather lazy Pokémon fits the bill for ESFPs, just not for the reason some might think. ESFPs aren't lazy but they do get bored pretty easily, remaining unfocused throughout things they aren't interested in.

If Snorlax had a personality type, it would be an ESFP; therefore, the only option is to match these two together to create a winning team.
