Grass-Type Pokemon can really be a thorn in your opponent's side. They may have some of the most weaknesses, but they also have the most versatility of any type in the game. Grass-Types are immune to powder-based moves, have four resistances, and have super-effective coverage against some of the most common types in the game.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet have made these benefits available at a moment's notice through Terastalization, and the Flower Crown's popularity has made the competitive ladder look like a scene from Midsummer. Many Pokemon can benefit from the Grass-Tera Crown, but a certain few wear it particularly well.

8 Camerupt

Camerupt's vulnerability previously prevented this volcanic camel from burning its brightest. But with Terastalization, it's erupting with new-found potential. This Desert dweller may be slow, but it has great bulk, solid Special Attack, and high Special Defense stats, making it a decent tank and a fantastic sweeper in a Trick Room.

Its Fire and Ground typing gives it a number of useful resistances but leaves it four times vulnerable to Water. Terastalizing into a Grass-Type completely flips this. With access to moves like Solar Beam, Fire Blast, and Earthquake, it can counter former threats while retaining its offensive viability. Camerupt's garden of moves and bouquet of strategies makes it perfect for the Grass Tera crown.

7 Mudsdale

If you ever faced a Mudsdale on the competitive ladder in Generation 8, you know that it has the potential to rock your world. This clod cladded Clydesdale's ability, Stamina, increases its Defense stat by one stage whenever it is hit by an attack. When placed next to an ally with bullet seed, Muddsdale becomes unstoppable. Since bullet seed can hit 3-5 times, this muddy mount can stack up to 5 defensive boosts in one turn.

In Generation 8, most players would Dynamax it and equip it with a weakness policy, giving it an additional two attack boosts. In Paldea, Mudsdale can take a defensive approach by utilizing a Grass Tera-Type to mitigate the bullet seed damage even further, quickly maxing out its defense stat. This ground-breaking strategy creates fertile ground for Muddsdale with a Grass-Type Terastalization.

6 Drednaw

The Grass Tera Crown allows Pokemon with critical weaknesses to truly blossom, and Drednaw is the perfect example. This dapper snapper has an incredibly impressive attack stat of 115 and can boost them further with its ability strong jaw. It's a great Pokemon that’s always been held back by its 4x weakness to Grass-Type moves.

With a Grass Type Terastalization, Drednaw becomes resistant to its greatest weakness leaving its raw power unchecked. Since it retains STAB on its Water and Rock-Type moves, it can cover its new Grass-Type weaknesses well, making it a nuisance to any opposing player. This terrifying terrapin can get really mean when it goes green.

5 Coalossal

If you ever played any rank ladder in Generation 8, you know how hard it is to stop the coal train. While you might have thought those days ended with Dynamax, terrastalization has just as much potential to keep this train on track.

As a Grass-Type, Coalossal can activate its Steam Engine ability while taking little to no damage reversing its biggest weaknesses defensively. As a strong special attacker with access to Solar Beam, Coalossal becomes a powerful Grass-Type sweeper and a great fit for sun teams. With a Grass-Type Terastalization, this solar-powered locomotive is a true steamroller in the harsh sun.

4 Armarouge

The grass is always greener on your side of the field with an Armarouge, especially with a GrassTera-Type. Armarouge is an absolute cannon, and since it’s the only Pokemon to get Expanding Force in Generation 9, it is incredibly common to see on the competitive ladder. Even without Terastalization, Armarouge remains a major threat, but it can grow into an even bigger one with a Grass Tera Crown.

Powder immunity is critical for threats like Amoongus being so common in the meta, plus its ability Flash Fire protects its new Fire-Type weakness. It even gets access to the move Energy Ball, so it doesn’t have to rely on Tara blast to utilize its new STAB. A Grass-Type Armarouge certainly has the firepower to blow its opponents away.

3 Meowscarada

Meowscarada is one tricky kitty. This feline sorceress has the attack and speed stats to deliver powerful blows and becomes even more offensive with a grass Tera boost. Its signature move, Flower Trick, always crits and never misses. By increasing its STAB even further, Flower Trick has the potential to one-shot Pokemon even when it's resisted.

Additionally, since it can change its type with Protean, Grass Terastalization can be a defensive reset when needed. It's also a great way to avoid things like Mach Punch, which it's particularly vulnerable to as a Dark-Type. When this masked cat dawns the grass cap, you might want to take a step back.

2 Torkoal

Torkoal is simply one of the greatest. Its ability to set up Harsh Sunlight, plus its super high Special Attack and access to Eruption, has given it a permanent space in the competitive meta. It’s always been great for assisting Grass-Type partners, allowing for moves like Solar Beam to charge in one turn. With Terrastalization, Torkoal can play both roles.

There isn’t a Grass-Type Pokemon that can set their own sun, much less fire off a Solar Beam, but a Grass-Type Torkoal can. Giving it immunity to powder moves is a welcomed bonus, especially given its speed. Through Terastalization, this thermal tortoise can have a lot of fun in the sun.

1 Iron Moth

When this robot moth's around, things can get heated quickly. Iron Moth is one of the Strongest offensive threats in Paldea, with a whopping base 140 Special Attack stat - that can be boosted upon switch in with its ability Quark drive. Its Poisonous presence gets even more toxic with a Grass-Type Terastalization, especially in the sun.

In Harsh Sunlight, Iron Moth can utilize Solar Beam's base 120 power Special Attack to quickly eliminate opponents without waiting a turn to power up. Additionally, the sun also boosts its Fire-Type moves, which it still receives STAB on. Combining this with its Poision-Type STAB coverage for its new weaknesses gives this quark-driven quiver dancer a toxic disposition when it dawns the flower crown.
