Pokémon Sword & Shield’s Isle of Armor DLC opened the borders of Galar just a little. Now a new batch of Pokémon, around 100, have permission to enter Generation VIII. Many are walking around the new and improved Wild Area, but there are also some hidden gems. In TheGamer’s Pokédex guide series, we chronicle all the Pokémon and where to find them.

This entry is all about Skrelp, the little Gen VI kelp dragon. Well, one day it will be a rare Dragon/Poison-type combination. But it starts out as a fake piece of kelp floating in the sea. It pretends to be simple sea debris, then attacks other Pokémon who get close. If a deceptive, poisonous sea creature sounds like your dream Pokémon, read on.

Where To Find Skrelp In Isle Of Armor

First off, it's important to note that Skrelp and its evolution are exclusive to Pokémon Shield. Those playing Sword will have to trade for it. A good trade would be Clauncher or Clawitzer.

If you're playing Shield, go for a surf around Stepping-Stone Sea, Insular Sea, Honeycalm Sea, or Honeycalm Island. You may need to search a while before you see it pop up, as it has a fairly low spawn rate.

How To Evolve Skrelp Into Dragalge

Skrelp evolves into Dragalge at level 48. It evolves a little faster than most Pokémon that end up as Dragon-types, so the process shouldn't be too painful.

What Dragalge Does In Battle

Dragalge, as a Poison-type, has many ways to poison foes. It can lay down Toxic Spikes or just use plain Toxic. It also has two Abilities, Poison Point and Poison Touch. These have a chance to poison foes when they make physical contact with Dragalge. Poison Point is the better of the two, since Dragalge will probably be taking more hits than it delivers.

For damaging moves, it can use Draco Meteor and Sludge Bomb. Focus Blast is also essential, as it is super effective on Steel-types that resist Dragalge's primary types.
