Despite being the Player's neighbor and rival, Hop isn't a particularly popular cosplay choice for fans of the Pokémon universe. There are only about 10-12 cosplayers total on Instagram who rock his purple hair and denim jacket.

Since none of the most famous cosplayers like Yaya Han or Jessica Nigri have taken to this character, the Hop Cosplay hashtag is populated mostly by novices. These cosplayers are taking the hobby back to its roots. They're dressing up purely for fun. Ordered by the number of followers, here are 10 Hop cosplayers that bring an authentic love for the game to conventions.

8 thespicyhoney

Spicy Honey doesn't actually have any posts on their Instagram account. They in fact only have 21 followers. Instead, their cosplay shows up on wwhatevver_cosplay's account. If you're interested in seeing more of Spicy Honey, you'll likely have to find that content on wwhatevver_cosplay's account instead - as they were Hop's wig stylist and fellow Pokémon trainer! Regardless, it's always great to support friends and wwhatevver_cosplay is stunning as Gloria, especially in solo shots.

Mango's account was only started a year ago, but she has since been uploading exclusively cosplay content. Her first cosplay of 2020 was Hop from Pokémon Sword and Shield, but she has also rocked looks from League of LegendsKiki's Delivery Service, and Overwatch. We think her casual D.Va look is adorable!

6 chi_exe

24-year-old cosplayer Chi describes himself as a "Cosplayer of Good Bois," and it isn't hard to see why. His most recent cosplayers include the Persona boys, Prompto from Final Fantasy XV, Sora from Kingdom Hearts 3, and Dimitri from Fire Emblem Three Houses.

5 kamenmango

Kamen is a multi-talented artist who not only takes pride in their cosplay but also creates some lovely illustrations. They have done fan art from properties such as Persona 5  and Undertale as well as created many original characters. In terms of cosplay, their Joker and Sora are some of the best on their page.

4 Melameme_Cosplays

So yes, this is obviously a closet cosplay. However, we can't exclude Melameme from the list just because of that. Not everyone has the time, the money, or the desire to make their cosplay look exactly like the source material, and that's okay! What's important is the obvious love for the art and the character. Not only would Melameme "die for him and his Wooloo," but Melameme also oozes the positive energy that makes people love him. Just look at their smiles! They're almost identical. We love it when fans show their passion! Melameme also has great charisma as Ken Kaneki from Tokyo Ghoul and Sith Rey.

3 Imeria Cosplay

We love a great action shot! Imeria really brings their cosplay to the next level with awesome photography. It isn't just about the costumes, wig, and makeup. Getting into character is just as important to evoking a perfect image.

Although the image was achieved by simply throwing the Wooloo at the camera (poor little guy!) we can use our imaginations. We know he's simply coming out of his Pokeball, ready to help Imeria become a champion!

2 Skyfangz

Sky is a 21-year-old cosplayer from Hawaii with the distinction of having the most likes of any of the Hop cosplay photos. Even though her simple costest was very well received, she actually focuses more on cosplaying the elder brother Leon. Much of her page is dedicated to Leon fanart, cosplay, and Tik Tok videos. Before her love of Sword and Shield, she posted a lot of Breath of the Wild content, including two very wonderful Link cosplays.

1 _Ryochi_

Finally, German cosplayer Mike caps off this list with 15.3 thousand followers. His Hop cosplay is awesome. The fur on the jacket is the perfect amount of fluffy! However, we really like his wig design most of all. It has that large and over-the-top anime style. His hair looks just like the game while still styled expertly enough to not look overbearing or tacky. He's not the only cosplayer to pose with a Wooloo plushie, but his is almost life-sized! Plus, he has two plushies and we can all agree two Pokémon are better than one!
