Evolution tools have expanded significantly since the days of Kanto in the Pokémon world. Once upon a time, there only stones were water, grass, fire, thunder, and moon stones. The introduction of new species over eight generations brought many new stones, and it can be difficult to keep up with the ever-changing dynamic of the series. There's so many that you might not even know all of them yet! To evolution stone overload, here is a compiled guide of every available stone in Pokémon Sword and Shield. Each one is broken down carefully; you'll learn exactly where to find it and better yet, who it evolves. The best part is you don't have to buy them from a fancy department store or swat away hoards of Zubat in Mount Moon looking for one.

We've included several Pokémon who are confirmed to be entering into the game through an update when the DLC Isle of Armor launches on June 17th. You absolutely do not have to purchase this to get the updated Pokedex. When the launch time of the second part Crown Tundra nears later in the year, we will update this article with those confirmed Pokémon.

Everstone

Let's say you have a cute Eevee and either you don't want to evolve it or aren't sure what you'd like to evolve it into. By having it hold an Everstone, you won't run the risk of having a Pokémon become something you don't want. However, if you remove it, that Eevee can become an Espeon, Umbreon, or Sylveon at any time. You can find an Everstone in Tuffield near the bridge, towards route five. Travel as if you were headed toward the Pokémon Stadium, make a left at the first path, and it will be on the ground. Everstones are also available as a reward in tier ten Pokéjobs.

Other Ways To Get Stones

Lake of Outrage

Stones spawn daily by the pillars at the Lake of Outrage, but keep in mind you won't able to access that area until you get the Rotom Bike water upgrade.

Pokéjobs

You can acquire evolution stones through two different procedures: Digging Duo and Pokéjobs, the latter of which involves sending your Pokemon to perform tasks for people and getting rewarded for it. Pokéjobs can be accessed at the PC inside the Pokémon Center that has a Rotom sitting over it. Once you earn Nessa's gym badge, you'll be able to access the tier of Pokejobs that offer stones as a reward. The better a job your Pokémon perform, the higher quality rewards they'll get. For this, all you have to do is make sure you're sending the Pokémon type that the clients ask for. In other words, don't try to be funny and send fire-types for someone who needs help with gardening.

The Digging Duo

These brothers can be found right by the Pokémon Nursery in Bridge Field. Unlike the Pokéjobs where you get paid, you pay them to search for items for you. Each brother charges 500 watts and pulls up different items based on their own personal ability. The one standing on the left can pull up rare items, but his lack of stamina only allows him to find a limited quantity. The brother on the right is stronger and pull more items, but he may not always find evolution stones.

Items The Left-Hand Brother Can Get:

• Moon Stone

• Shiny Stone

• Ice Stone

• Dawn Stone

• Dusk Stone

•  Sun Stone

Items The Right-Hand Brother Can Get:

• Thunder Stone

• Water Stone

•  Leaf Stone

• Fire Stone

• Dawn Stone

• Sun Stone

• Shiny Stone

• Dusk Stone

• Ice Stone

• Moon Stone
