Pokémon Sword & Shield’s Isle of Armor DLC opened the borders of Galar just a little. Now a new batch of Pokémon, around 100, have permission to enter Generation VIII. Many are walking around the new and improved Wild Area, but there are also some hidden gems. In TheGamer’s Pokédex guide series, we chronicle all the Pokémon and where to find them.

This entry is all about Clauncher, the Water Gun Pokémon. If you've ever thought that there needed to be a shrimp Pokémon with a giant claw that shoots stuff, then Clauncher is made for you. Load up and take aim with our guide for finding Clauncher on the Isle of Armor.

Where To Find Clauncher In Isle Of Armor

First off, it's important to note that Clauncher and its evolution are exclusive to Pokémon Sword. Those playing Shield will have to trade for it. A good trade would be Skrelp or Dragalge.

If you're playing Sword, go for a surf around Stepping-Stone Sea, Insular Sea, Honeycalm Sea, or Honeycalm Island. You may need to search a while before you see it pop up, as it has a fairly low spawn rate.

How To Evolve Clauncher Into Clawitzer

Clauncher evolves into Clawitzer at level 37. It has no Gigantamax or Mega Evolution.

What Clawitzer Does In Battle

It should come as no surprise, given Clawitzer's name and looks, that it excels at shooting. As such, Special Attack is its highest stat. In fact, it can only ever one Ability: Mega Launcher. This Ability raises the power of its aura or pulse moves by 50%. So, yeah, load Clawitzer up with plenty of ammo.

Fortunately, Clawitzer's movepool is varied. Water Pulse is a given, but you can pad it out with Ice Beam and Dark Pulse. If you want to go all-out on the offensive, also give it Aura Sphere. Alternatively, you can give it U-turn to escape or Toxic for surprise poison.
